Multiple Sites and Apache

Hello. I am very new to Zope -- so new in fact, that I have not done anything but the all to simplistic tutorial (I have JSP background). I was considering using Zope for two small personal sites on an Apache web server. I would like them to be accessed as follows: http://my.domain/site1/ and http://my.domain/site2/ I can not seem to figure out a way to get this to work. Instead I end up with this: http://my.domain/Zope/site1/ and http://my.domain/Zope/site2/ If I try to change my httpd.conf file, I end up breaking some of the paths that Zope creates for within a site (i.e. the image in "standard_html_footer"). You can put more than one zope install on a machine and light em both up at the same time as long as they listen different ports. Make another zope install and edit the start file to listen on 8081, eg. Please continue to copy the zope(a)zope.org list. First, are you using the latest release of Xron -- version 0.0.9? The references to ZScheduler and ZEvent make me suspect that you are not. I don't have experience doing that specific task; but I'm sure it's possible. However, it may not be possible with manage_copyObjects and manage_pasteObjects. They depend on cookies to save state between operations; however, in your case, there is no real client available to store cookies. I suspect that your filecopy method must read the data from 'object1' and write it directly to "what". Perhaps another Zope developer can step in and suggest something more specific based on actual experience. -- Loren

Oracle 8i database connection under Zope

Hi! I'd like make an Oracle 8i database connection under Zope. I downloaded the DCO2-linux-Beta2.tgz file. Copiled it, and copied in the /lib/python/Product under Zope. It seems to work but I can't find Z Oracle Database Connection in the useable types (for example Z Gadfly Database Connection). Can anybody help me, what shall I do more? Thanks: Lajos

Hiya >better forget all about DTML and go for >http://www.zope.org/Members/4am/ZPT I have started learning ZPT, and although I don't want to discourage anyone from using it, i would say that for a complete beginner it would be better to start off with DTML. I say this as there is little documentation on ZPT at present, and the documentation that there is, i.e. the examples that show you how to do things are all DTML conversions, so you will be a bit stuck if you don't know DTML in the first place. Newbie Question/Where's Document Root?

I've installed the latest RedHat rpms from Jeff Rush's site onto a RedHat 7.1 system. I'm not using Apache - just the ZServer. Everything is working fine. Just curious, where the heck is the Document Root? What directory do the files get loaded into as you add files to the root folder? Thanks, Kevin
