UnpicklingError for simple zexp import on 2.3.3

I'm reposting this one with a right title (sorry for the troubel) Hello, A friend of mine has an UnpicklingError when she imports a simple zexp file (DTML method with northing but text and a simple form button) at root level. Her Setup : * She has a fresh Redhat 7.0, python 1.5.2 * Zope 2.3.3 compiled from source * imported some products (cookieCrumbler, nfgnav, yahaw, popoto) My setup : * win 98 * 2.3.3 binary The imports also works fine on NT/2.3.2 All works fine on her machine untill she does the import. Otherwise, nothing wrong. The "bad" .zexp is a simple DTML method export (only text and a form) from the Win98 machine. Any idea about that ? I saw in the archive that this happens sometimes, but with no responses about the reason. We can provide the Data.fs for investigation if needed. Thanks a lot. Newbie question - management interface

I'm a Zope newbie (found zope last year, played with it some but didn't really use it, just installed Zope 2.3.3 with Python 2.0 on OpenBSD 2.9), and I have a problem. When I go to the management screens, such as Root Folder, rather than viewing the management stuff in the right pane, I see the folder as someone visiting my site would see it (rendering index_html instead of showing the Root Folder management stuff). There's probably something obvious I'm overlooking, but I can't figure out how to get the management screens. Had same problem on Zope 2.2.5 Windows binary, and have the problem in IE 5 and w3m (haven't tried any other browsers). Can someone help? I don't subscribe to the zope mailing list, so could people please send replies to engedi(a)evertek.net. Thank you, Michaek

ZEvent help

dear sir , Sub : Regarding ZEvent. you said that change the proxy role to higher permissions and ensure that code working properly. But we already given the role as "Manager" and we logged as Manager and script(code) is working properly. But it is throwing same exception ------ ( You are not authorized to access this resource. No Authorization header found. (File: C:\Program Files\zope\lib\python\ZPublisher\HTTPResponse.py Line: 588) 401 Unauthorized for http://sw8:8080/NShedu/trigger ) ------ if i click trigger tab. In server side it is showing message like "currentThread():no current thread for -413987" . We are using windows98 standalone system. Server is running on windows98 in one system and client is working on windows98 in one system. I had written python script " what=context.manage_copyObjects(ids=['object1']) context.Folder1.manage_pasteObjects(what) " the above script i had written in python script file name is "filecopy" and this file is calling in ZEvent name is "NShedu" as follows " <dtml-call filecopy> " at certain time. My task is "object1" should copy to "Folder1" at certain time everyday. one more thing , is it possible to copy one Folder from Zope server to local HardDisk at certain time everyday ???? please give me reply as soon as possible for the above questions.. Dear gentleman, May some one suggest a decent book on Zope and Python (i mean two books, one about Zope and another on python programming). Please, realize i am not looking for just a(two) book(s) on these subject, i look for real books. Some one for Zope and Python like what "The C Programming Language" is for C. Got the ideia ? Oh, Yeah! i did read the Zope Book (www.zope.org) but since i have never code in python, i am a lost on some aspects fo Zope manipulation. Thanks a lot for your time and cooperation. zope book examples not working

Hi all, I'm working through the section on "extending Zope" and I'm coming to a problem. I was able to define a template, but when I go to use the "add" form, I get "authorization failed". Security augmenting not happening

I am trying to make a folder and it's contents viewable only by a manager. So in the Security tab, I de-select the inherited "View" box and enable it only in the Manager column. This worked until I changed the owner of the folder and it's contents to being an Owner. In theory, a manger should still have full access to just about everything, but no, not even a mighty manager can view what's in the folder. If I re-enable the inherited View tick box then all is well again. So I can inherit rights into the folder but not augment them for a manager? Has anyone else experienced this or can tell me what's going on here? I am using Zope 2.3.3 on Cobalt RH6.2 Linux. File transfer with Zope

I use Zope 2.4. I'd like to offer users to upload text files to my server in order to be manipulated by external methods written in Python. I have still found only 2 possibilities : (1) : sending files with a HTML form. But does something exist in Python to manage HTTP files sending ?? (2) : sending files by FTP. But how could I access files in Zope's file system from an external method ?? Do libraries exist to manipulate Zope filesystem ? Managing temporary objects

Hallo, The problem I have is how to manage session objects. I was using HappySession but I'm thinking of other solution more connected with ZODB. Are there any clear examples of Python scripts (I suppose this is the only solution) explaining how to create an instance and manage it. For example I have a class User, call constructor with initial data like name or whatever taken from database and get an ID which is kept in cookie. Then I manage the object using this ID. I don't know Python but I suppose that it is somehow possible. Other problem is the time of living. Of course I want all objects to die in specific idle time when additionaly they could flush all modifications to the external database. Best regards, Pawel Lewicki

How do I use a Z Oracle Connection in a script?

Hello All, I am trying to save a long raw into a database. Z SQL Method pastes the parameters into the request, which is unsatisfactory because this parameter contains stray quotes and unprintable characters. I am trying to write a python script, given an oracle connection called Oracle_database_connection in the same folder.
