Add a ZClass-Instance with file properties

Hi! I have a ZClass with File properties, but i can't create objects of that type. i added a file selection to the addForm: <input type=file name="file" size=30> but when i click "Add", i get an error message: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: unsliceable object .. filesize of uploaded file

I know this question's been posted before but I can't find it at nipltd.com so I post it again. How to find the size of a uploaded file? I've tried: print getattr(REQUEST['file'],'size') and print getattr(REQUEST['file'],'filesize') This works fine though print getattr(REQUEST['file'],'filename') Cheers, Peter

Hello, A friend of mine has an UnpicklingError when she imports a simple zexp file (DTML method with northing but text and a simple form button) at root level. Her Setup : * He has a fresh Redhat 7.0, python 1.5.2 * Zope 2.3.3 compiled from source * imported some products (cookieCrumbler, nfgnav, yahaw, popoto) My setup : * win 98 * 2.3.3 binary The imports also works fine on NT/2.3.2 All works fine on her machine untill she does the import. Otherwise, nothing wrong. The "bad" .zexp is a simple export from the Win98 machine. Any idea about that ? I saw that this happens sometimes, but with no respoinses about the reason. portability of Zope applications

Hi, I am new to Zope. I started evaluating it a bit to understand its use in our environment. 2 questions concerning the 'portability' of Zope applications: 1- assuming I have 2 Zope servers, one for development and one for deployment: is it possible to port all stuff made in one folder with installation 1 in installation 2 ? ...I would imagine a utility to 'pack' all objects and unpack them in another installation. 2- as to database connectivity (I am used to PHP, where with PHPlib I can write PHP which is portable to setups using different servers). Does the same apply to Zope ? I.e. if I am using ODBC/Access in my 'prototype', and Oracle in my full-blown application, is it sufficient to have a connection ID with the same name to insure portability ? mapping permissions in ZClass

Hello, I have 2 ZClass folderish products who works well. I have some permissions to setup and made a role for each product. The problem is that each product have some identical permissions (acces content information, delete object, manage properties, ...) and this cause some side effects on each othe product whare one role is allowed to "do things" on the other role's object because he has the same permission. I already solved some points by mapping permissions for property sheets, but still have problem on other ones like "delete objects" where i can't supress the "delete object" permission in the role even if i have mapped this "delete object" with my main "use this Zclass" permission. I guess i'm close but i'm still puzzled. I just can't find a place or document where ZClass mapping, define prperties and properties are clearly explained. Z Sql method newbie question

Hallo, Newbie. Zope 2.3.3 on Win98. Interbase 6.0 through gvibDA. I have a database table with three fields : id, name, surname. I want to create a simple Z Sql method that adds a new record to the table and automatically assigns an increased id value to the new record . I tried something like : insert into table(name, surname) values ( max (id) + 1, <dtml-sqlvar name type="string">, <dtml-sqlvar surname type="string"> ) (Method arguments are : name, surname). But It does not work as I expect. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Fabrizio C.
