how to include a document in other website?

hello all, in zope 2.3.x is it possible to include a document in another website? for example; <dtml-urlinclude expr=http://www.mydomain.com/myfile.html> possible like that? or zope(DTML) has any alternative way to do this? ismet

EuroZope conference goodies

For those of you who are going to the eurozope conference in Berlin on Thurs and Fri, I'll be handing out free Digital Creations pens (the cool ones that everyone wanted at IPC9, I have a whole bag of them!). Hi again, Thanks for your help. What I intend to do is to compress a set of pages, download them all together and decompress them after having downloaded it. (The download bit is done) Having had a look to the documentation I wonder how can I pass several pages and compress them as a whole. And which is the right method to compress them to have them in a propper format that allows them to be decompressed after being downloaded. I have tried to do it for one page...but zope seems to laugh at me...:( The method I have used is: import zlib def compress_data(data): x = zlib.compress(data,6) To return : <dtml-call "REQUEST.RESPONSE.setHeader('content-type','text/html')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.RESPONSE.setHeader('Content- Disposition','Attachment; Filename='+document+'.html')"> <dtml-return "compress_data(_['document'])"> Has anyone done something like this before? Hi This is propably an FAQ but I couldn't find an answer to it: I'm extending a product which has a java applet on one of the management screens. How do I get the class file and the jar? I've tried something like: --cut------------- def my_jar(self, REQUEST): return self._my_jar _my_jar = File('www/my.jar') --cut------------- but that absolutely didn't work... -- Regards Thomas Olsen

cataloging text files

hi any body with ideas to index textfiles with ZCatalog? i've read cataloging everything with zcatalog, and would like to do the same with text files. i saw two steps 1-setup a ZSQL methods that returns what we want to index (return as PrincipiaSearchSource) 2-catalog the objects what/how can i do #1 with text files? how can i retrun PrincipiaSearchSource? i know how to treturn text, but not how to return it to the script that does the cataloging. i can't think of a way... thanks

exposing properties to python

Hello, I am developing all my logic in python classes and using Zope for the presentation so that I can use CLI and other toolsets against the same objects. In my particular case, I need to expose properties (either in property sheets or product-properties ($64K question is what is better to use!)) via python scripts either when I instantiate a ZClass based on the python base-class or in a post instantiation method in that base-class. I can't find any good python examples throughout the zope.org site. almost everything is either zclass-built and thus using property sheets via DTML I'm not on the list, so any answers, please send to me directly if not to the list as well. Also, if I shouldn't use product properties or product-instance property sheets, what should I use to communicate to python scripts from an add_form constructor or the like? I am used to python programming, but the Zope<->Python bridge hasn't made any sense to me thus far.

Hi all, I have been trying to find this out on my own but I´m affraid I will need your help (again). I have a folder called generic and a folder custom. like this portal_skins---- ¦--- custom ¦--- generic Well now I have the action box. And I added a action to create a new stylesheet_properties (in custom) called change colors. Now this action either links to the stylesheet_properties of generic and they will click a buton to copy the method to the custom folder. But the next time they log in they might want to change the colors (the stylesheet_properties) again. But if I send them to the generic folder again and the click the copy button they will get a error telling them the stylesheet_properties allready exists in the custom folder. So now my question: How can I make the link change depending on if there already exists a stylesheet_properties in custom (URL/custom/stylesheet_properties)and if not like them to the stylesheet_properties of generic(URL/generic/stylesheet_properties) Hope my explanation was clear. ZCatalog resources

Is there a good resource for ZCatalog issues. I've tried Chapter 9 of the Zope book, but only get the result if they have because they have only two objects. My experience with the ZCatalog is that it returns far too many objects, the vast majority of which do not satsify the criteria. When I ask for the first set, it returns a correct result. However, changing the criteria and resubmitting (by going back, chaning the criteria, and resubmitting) gives me the exact same (overly large) result set which now does NOT fit the search criteria. I need a catalog but don't want to roll it out to users if I can't get it to work correctly. Is there some nice neat resource that explains how to get the ZCatalog to do one's bidding (or tell me what I'm doing wrong). Cheers, Ron
