Thanks for the response. The problem seems to be: we cannot ftp download large file (larger than 90KB). I have also tried to use DOS console ftp, also the same problem with downloading large files, message like this: ftp> get flashplayer5installer.exe 200 PORT command successful. 550 Error opening file. but I can download the files in Zope's management screen using "view". It seems this has be reported in collector No. 1027. Data.fs and admin passwords

I'm installing the new Zope server for a website. I've got everything setup, and I just copied the Data.fs over into the ./var/ directory. Unfortunately, it's having problems. I try to log in as admin, but apparantly all the previous accounts are included in the Data.fs file, including admin. Running ./install to get a new password doesn't work - it gives a new password, but it's not recognized at login. What should I do? Is there some way for the owner of the Zope server to access/change accounts and passwords? Thanks, caffno(a)wwc.edu

I am supposing that you are trying to search on one 'field' or mass of text; what I am about to say would require a bit of modification and re-thought if you were to combine searches on multiple fields (well, that is, if you need cross-field OR searching; AND is already a de-facto reality across fields). How is it that you are "revising" the search? I'm supposing that you are taking the original search, and combining the query verbatim with the modifications, like: originalquery + ' ' + modifications Doing this (at least in Zope 2.3.x, I think) should result in an implicit "AND" and limit the first set, but I think you need to gratuitously use parentheses. For example, in an classified ad application I have developed using ZCatalog, there are lots of job entries for engineers, but I want to modify it to only see something like environmental engineer jobs: Suppose the original query is "engineer*" - also suppose that I want to append a limiting term like "environment*" - I would rewrite the query string for the textIndex I am searching to look like: (engineer*) AND (environment*) This limits 83 items in my test example to 6 matches. and suppose, then, that I was looking for something in the Navy: ((environment*) AND (engineer*)) AND (naval) This limits 6 items in my test example to 1 match. All the extra parentheses don't seem to hurt, and seem to be necessary, to some extent. So, I guess, if you are trying to do limiting searches, you are going to have to have some code that rewrites your query text, every time wrapping your original search in parentheses and appending an AND and the new terms. The python code for this might look like: newquery='(' + oldquery + ') AND (' + newquery + ')' Then pass newquery as a form value for the index you are trying to search using your form doing a <dtml-in Catalog>. Refcount question

These two refcounts just keep going up. The server has been running Zope 2.3.3 for 18 days without any problems, but unlike many of the other refcounts I've watched, these never go down. I have a 14MB, 33276 object Data.fs and the load is fairly light. Sum up a property from several objects

Hello, I have a folder contaning some objects. These objects all have a property named CPU (it's an int). Now I want to iterate through the folder's objects and sum up the value of this CPU property. I have tried with this - IMHO - really bad code: <dtml-with my_computers> <dtml-in "objectValues()"> <dtml-if sequence-start> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('new_cpu',CPU)"> <dtml-else> <dtml-let cpu="new_cpu + CPU"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('new_cpu',cpu)"> </dtml-let> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> </dtml-with> But I get this error: Error Type: KeyError Error Value: cpu Any other way to do this ? Is it a DTML method, Document, folder, or image?

Hey all, let's say that I want to be able to go into a folder and find out something about each object within...namely its type. I can't seem to find the correct syntax. I can do this for the title if the objects: <dtml-in objectValues> <dtml-var title><br> </dtml-in objectValues> but I can't seem to find the 'type'. I tried different syntaxes, to no avail. Anyone know how to code this? Also, is there a way to specify a wildcard? Situation: I have separated all content from display. The user can update the site's content. All editable content goes into methods that start with 'Editable_' A folder can have one or more of these methods inside, so I want to list all available methods in a folder that start with that name. How do I achieve this? Maybe something similar to: <dtml-in objectValues> <dtml-if expr="id == 'Editable_'*"> <dtml-var id> </dtml-if> </dtml-in objectValues> Obviously, this doesn't work, but I'm looking for something similiar.
