Does anyone know what python objects we can import in our Zope python scripts? When I try importing the os module my script just comes up with a zope domain login and none of my two users work. Database connection in Python script and quoting characters

A Pythonish question: If I'm working with a DBI module and am inserting items in a database as so: sql = "insert into homestest ("+CatHead+") values ("+foundData+")" print sql crsr.execute(sql) How should my string foundData look as far as escaping characters? Right now, I send over values with apostrophes and commas and they make the SQL code choke. Thanks! - Chris Muldrow

Jim, Another person pointed this out to me earlier today. What I want is the 'value' of 'sequence-item' which will be each column name in my family table. Since I know what the 'column' names are, I could do this like: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set(lastname,_.string.upper(REQUEST['lastname']))"> ....and so on for all of the columns in my table, but I want to acquire these column names via the "names" method. Actually, it would be cleaner to do it inside a Python script but I couldn't figure out how to modify the REQUEST object. Thanks for your input, your's too Daniel! Web folders: requested header was not found

I've opened my member directory on www.zope.org as a web folder in Internet Explorer 5.5 on Windows 2000. That must mean I'm using WebDAV. When I try to drag and drop any object from www.zope.org to the desktop, IE complains: "An error occurred while copying the file. The requested header was not found". Is this a Zope issue, or a Microsoft issue? Regards, René Pijlman

Authentication Path

I have this object structure on my server: /Folder1/acl_users (Granted Roles "Student") /Folder1/add (Python Script) self = context.getParentNode(); self.manage_addFolder("foo","Foo Folder") return "Foo Created" /Folder2/acl_users (Granted Role "Manager") calling add as follows: /Folder2/Folder1/add add looks at Folder2 and trys to add a Folder called "foo". The problem is I get a security error saying that I am not authorized to manage_addFolder. This is because I am authorized at Folder1 not Folder2. *sigh* I feel stupid, but I'm not able to work this. I don't program; I've been using Zope for about a month. What I have is: <dtml-in expr="_[foldername].objectValues()" sort="bobobase_modification_time" reverse> <dtml-if "_['id']=='index_html'"></dtml-if> <dtml-unless "_['id']=='index_html'"> <li> <a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var title></a><br> Maintained by <dtml-var maintainer missing="No maintainer">. <br><dtml-var description missing="No description."> Last revision date <dtml-var version_date missing="unknown">. </dtml-unless> </dtml-in> </UL> That's making an unordered list of files in a directory (with some properties they have) without listing index_html. When I tried to use your suggestion, I generate *no* list at all in any directory with a file with an index_hide property set. What's wrong here? Another Zope in the wild - Anarchy Online

I just started playing Anarchy Online (a new online massively multiplayer game), and when visiting their community site (http://community.anarchy-online.com) I noticed some distinctive URLs :^) Checking the site with http://www.netcraft.com I found: Zope/Zope 2.3.2 (source release, python 1.5.2, linux2) ZServer/1.1b1 on Linux Go Zope! --Josh
