Extending ZClasses

How do I extend a ZClass? Overwrite general stuff that I want to personalize for my own site. Can I just create a new ZClass with my Product as the Base Class? and then create objects with the same ids. Will that do it? Then I'll have to create a ZClass with a different id and meta type and that will complicate things. I have the Beehive ebook about ZClasses but that didn't help. Cheers, Peter

Non short-circuit or statement (listing multiple document categories)

What is the correct way to generate a list of documents of several types. I used the following statement, which only lists the documents of the first category matched. <dtml-in expr="objectValues('STX_Document') or objectValues('Page Template') or objectValues('DTML Document')" sort="bobobase_modification_time" reverse> So if there are no STX_Document's the Page Template's get listed, but not the DTML Documents. RFC:Howto incorporate nonzope site into zope

sirs! i have a howto done on KebasData that will help incorporate nonzope site/pages/data to zope. basically, the product just fetches wanted data, and put it in zope. This howto helps with three examples, and there may be many other ways to use this product. in effect, we can have a perl cgi running in apache , and have the forms and get the result in zope-land. works with any kind of data, available thru the NIC. http://www.zope.org/Members/kedai/useKebasData the product - http://www.kedai.com.my/Members/kedai/KebasData comments on the Howto and the product itself apreciated. thanks

How to eliminate the traceback in the error message screen?

When i key in the duplicate record ZOPE will prompt out the duplicate error message, actually i can just modified the top part of this error message screen but i want to eliminate the traceback show on the bottom of the page but i dont know where to modify it. Hi, For those like me who are tired to edit DTML methods/documents through an HTML TEXTAREA, I'm proud to announce the first public alpha version of DTML Editor, first attempt of DTML syntax coloring editor. Requirements (client side): - Windows or Unix/GTK - Python 2.x (worked with Python 2.1 but did not use any specific feature) - xmlrpclib (get it from http://www.pythonware.com but you can use a copy of the one that's in $ZOPEROOT/lib/python) - wxPython from http://www.wxpython.org (I work with wxPython 2.3 but DTML Editor will perhaps run with older versions) Requirements (server side): - Hmmm... I'm not sure... I tested with Zope 2.3.2 and Zope 2.3.3 but this may work with older versions. - Follow instructions in "00README.txt": there's a small python script to put in the Zope server root to reply to the client. Warning for Unix/GTK users: I developed and tested the DTML Editor with Windows but paid attention not using any Windows specific feature of python or wxPython. Just install this release in a directory where the user has "write" granted. DTML Editor will save user preferences in ~/.dtmled/* on Unix platforms in a future release. getting Apache's UNIQUE_ID into Zope?

I'm currently converting an application from php to Zope. My app uses Apache's UNIQUE_ID env variable. Zope is running behind Apache with mod_rewrite and mod_proxy.
