I have posted an update to ZRTChat, Realtime Chat for Zope, at http://www.zope.org/Members/jwashin/ZRTChat It has some code cleanups, the new Product structure, inline Style, show/hide controls, and finally has a customizable (TTW DTML Methods) user interface. MIT License. Existing installations that wish to keep old chat items may copy and paste these into a newly-created instance of the updated product. -- Jim Washington

Hi, I'm real new to zope. I'm trying to find out if it's useful for us, so I want to create a small pilot site, without too much learning. However, I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number of info and plugins available for Zope. So here's a small question, I want my users to be able to post messages in which they inserted 1 or more images. I do not want them to know dtml, nor to know html. So I need a form in which they can write their message, format it a bit (bold, underline, etc) and insert images. Is there something like that already? Newbie Help needed Using the Zope Object Database

Hi All, I have been playing around with Zope as a newbie for sometime now. Now I want to start using the Object Database for my regular applications. I know the paradigm of using Object databases being different from the regular RDBMS. Now I understand how to design persistent classes in the object paradigm but I am not clear how to store these classes within Zope in the database. Can someone enlighten me on how to create the following customer class as a persistent class within Zope. Customer Attributes : Name Age Methods : AddCustomer(Name, Age) DeleteCustomer(Name) LocateCustomer(Name) I know about using python to create classes but its not clear how to use python scripts and how to store persistent classes with Zope itself instead of python. Help... Thanks for any thoughts on this... bobby

installing CMF

I installed CMF 1.1 according to the installation instructions into the Products directory of a Zope 2.4.1 instance (tried /lib/python/Products first, but in instruction is written /Products, I tried it at both places inclusive restart of Zope). CMF doesn't show up in the Products of Control Panel. Is there anything known as not working with Zope 2.4.1 and CMF 1.1? MemberData Error

Hi, I am using Zope2.3.3 & CMF1.1. When I try to login, I get a MemberDataError. Below is the traceback I get. Can anyone please tell me what could be the problem? Thanks for any help. Ok, solved my own problem (eventually) If the Meta Type (found under the Basic management tab of the new class) differs from the Add list name (found in the class' factory) then the class won't support rename and copying operations. I don't know if this should be obvious, but it wasn't for me! Thanks. That did the trick. I copied the list for archival purposes. CST is a great product that I really enjoy using. DCO2 beta 5 problem.

Hi We're having a weird problem with the DCO2 beta5 adapter: It seems like it leaves connections open, creating new ones as it pleases, gradually leaving more connection open , though inactive.. Zope doesn't report anything wrong, although if we check Oracle, the number of open (inactive) connections to the Zope seem to grow at a steady pace, and in about a day and a half we reach the maximum number of open connections (400), and need to kill them off by hand. We can find no connection to specific method calls doing this, and it only happens when using the DCO2 through Zope with ZsqlMethods. No problem when using it directly through Python. We are currently only using it for a simple news-publishing system, but will soon have to escalate it to Authentication and other intensive applications, - so obviously we fear for the stability of our system if the number of connections should grow at a much faster pace...
