External Method: Render STX with images

Hi! I'm putting this on the list because I've seen a couple of posts of other people who wanted to have images in their stx documents. I've just uploaded a python solution you can use as a simple way to provide this feature: http://www.zope.org/Members/Barabbas/stx_to_html You will only have to change your <dtml-var my_stx_input fmt=structured-text> to <dtml-var "stx_to_html(my_stx_input)"> to use the extended rendering with images. Zope (external) methods to access a local news server?

Hi all, I wonder if anyone knows of work/code to display posts from a local news server (inn2) within a web browser using Zope (Python external methods)? I thought it would be good to check before I possibly (and very slowly) reinvented the wheel. If anyone has good ideas how to achieve this I'd appreciate it. I thought I'd look for a command-line newsreader that I can get to, say, pipe the latest 10 posts to a text file (I'm only familar with GUI clients like Pan). Hello, Sorry for all my questions right now but it isn't that easy to make a payment gateway written in PHP to talk to Zope ... I was wondering if it was possible to login a user programatically with the data from HTTP_COOKIE. It contains all the data required (__ac_user, __ac) but the __ac is encoded. Anyone who have done this before ?? TIA, Gitte

Request-variable containing some user information

Hello, I am trying to create a shop product to use with our payment gateway. The gateway works in a very secure way and it's not easy to find out how it works. I have some problems with the things that should happen after a users credit card has been accepted by the gateway. You set an ok and a failure url in the gateway setup. If the card is accepted, the gateway returns the page on the ok url. But it is the gateway that returns the url and therefor Zope think it's an anonymous user that is logged in. Now is there some variable from the REQUEST object I can pass to the gateway in order to make Zope know that there is a user logged in ? I have tried with HTTP_COOKIE but it didn't seem to work. One other thing is that the form tag can only look like this: <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="sessionid" VALUE="<dtml-var "REQUEST['HTTP_COOKIE']">"> the sessionid variable is the only one the gateway doesn't strip :(( TIA, Gitte Wange

hi zopistas, Is there a way in zope to define restrictions as we now it from relational databases. In other words, is it possible to store only a reference of an object in a attribute of another object. Additionally, the zope database wouldn't allow to delete the referenced object while it's still referenced (in a attribute of another object). if this is somehow possible, it would make zope very, very powerfull. thanx, lukas

what security should these methods have?

__call__, __bobo_traverse__ I have been going through my products trying to lock things down more using the new security model and I have been making all the security explicit. Mostly because it makes it easy to change and easy to see what the permissions are. However what kinds of security should those two items have? private? public? protected? if protected what permission should they be protected by? What is a good place to find this information overall since it doesn't seem to be in the zope developers guide which I kind of expected some of this kind of info in. Is there a way in zope to have it give you every permission and every method that is protected by that permission? I think it would make this kind of analysis easier.
