Hi Folks, I am struggeling with the following problem. I want people to create there own contributions to a thing what we named knowledgebase. If somebody wants to share his knowledge he press the "Add new Contribution" link. Then he will be asked to fill out a form. He can enter keywords, headlines, texts, images and files as attachments. A DTML Methode creates a new folder with a unique Id. Within this folder I want to store all text elements in a DTML Document, the images and the attachments. My classes does not support copy and paste!

Hi all, What am I doing wrong if my class doesn't support copy and paste or renaming? The class inherits from the basic Zope objects and also (the one) from the Folder class. When I try to copy and paste or rename an instance of my new class, I get the "The object Foo does not support this operation" error. Thanks Etienne

Hi all, I installed Zope yesterday. I tested it and it worked. The log file (Z2.py) looked like: 127.0.0.1 - Anonymous [17/Sep/2001:16:07:02 +0200] "GET /manage HTTP/1.0" 401 1895 "http://localhost:8080/" "Mozilla/4.77 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.4.4-4GB i586)" 127.0.0.1 - admin [17/Sep/2001:16:07:23 +0200] "GET /manage HTTP/1.0" 401 1911 "http://localhost:8080/" "Mozilla/4.77 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.4.4-4GB i586)" Then I install zoperl (incl. pyperl), LocalFS, ZPoPzDA(incl. PoPy). And the log file looks now like : 127.0.0.1- - [17/Sep/2001:14:20:40 +0200] "GET /" 200 5806 127.0.0.1- - [17/Sep/2001:14:20:41 +0200] "GET /p_/ZopeButton" 304 103 Why this? I need a logfile with user. I reinstall Zope three times but the log is always like the second version. How can I change this? Thanks! IOError with ExtFile/ExtImage

Hi! I have a problem with the product ExtFile/ExtImage 1.1.X in Zope 2.3.3 I can´t add an instance of the product within another method. The following returns an IOError with the title: <dtml-call "manage_addProduct['ExtFile'].manage_addExtFile(title,description,file,content_type,0,REQUEST)"> The variables are all set correctly. indexing word files

Dear all, I need to index and search through the msword files. I have downloaded the wvware but i m not getting it as to how to use it. i m running my system over windows2000 .Using wvware seems quite complex to me.Is there any simple tool for conversion like we have pdftotext.exe. i also wnat to index poweropoint,xccel also so what converter shalli use for them. I m successfully indexing the pdf files. Converting List properties in DTML Documents to python lists

Is there an API call in Zope that takes the contents of a lines property (such as in a DTML Document) and returns a python list? I couldn't find one. In the alternative, does anyone have a code snippet for converting the contents of a lines property into a list (or appending it to an existing list? I want to write a python function that returns a list of the contents of a DTML Docments lines property. Thanks in advance, Ron

Chris, I am actually using .re3 extensions, not .doc, so the content type is set to application/octet-stream Thanks for your advice - I am doing as you say, but my zope file object id's are NOT named after the file names they came from (they have no .re3 extension) thus IE doesn't know to download it. E.g. a hyperlink to the zope file object http://.../RG/ArgumentFile11 does not trigger a download, IE only views the text of it. when I rename it to http://.../RG/ArgumentFile11.re3 then IE does correctly open/download it. pcgi-wrapper: Interrupted system call (102) failure during connect

Okok.. I looked through the archives, and came up with a couple of people having similar problems, but, alas, the problem I am seeing is a bit different. I can execute ./start to start up Zope, and I can get to the web server via http://mydomain.com:8080. However, the key here was to use the Zope.cgi in order to have Apache serve the pages (due to other constraints, I have no other option there). With the server a 2.3.0 things had been working for several months (installed and running since April 2001). Recently (today), the guy using the server came to me saying it was down. I looked, and I get: The resource you requested is temporarily unavailable - please try again later. </TD> </TR> </TABLE> (102) failure during connect  And the log shows: pcgi-wrapper: Interrupted system call (102) failure during connect Now, as with most developers, they do not tell the admin's (me) when something is not working that isn't urgent. I have no idea how long the server was not working. No changes were made to the virtual hosts section within apache. It fires off the Zope.cgi correctly.. no big deal there. I can recreate the problem by executing the Zope.cgi script by hand, so that eliminates the Apache server config. I can run ./start successfully, which eliminates the zope server. At that point, it seems to be the Zope.cgi and PCGI interaction, and, with that, I am at a loss. Since I am running this under Solaris, I've 'truss'ed the living daylights out of the ./Zope.cgi script to no avail.. Any insights or pointers would be fantastic.
