Asyncore.py

Hi; For some reason my new build of Zope-2.4.1 didn't build certain files, including asyncore.py and asyncore.pyc (in ZServer/medusa). I'm suspecting the reason is because I have 2 versions of python running and in order to specify the latest I must type python2.1 at the command prompt. Is there some way to specify this version of python in the build, or does it look for this automatically, or am I missing something else? TIA, BenO

This is not a Zope-question but a mailing list-question. Frequently I get messages from the list which are answers to questions that haven't been asked yet. For example, Curtis Ruck's question was sent to me monday, 17-9-01 18:29 and Chris McDonough's answer was sent monday, 17-9-01 18:38. However, in my inbox they are received at 18:40 and 18:35, respectively. My, that's answering fast! As has been noted by Curtis already :-) Can I adjust some settings somewhere to get this right, because this ordering confuses me. Or has it to do with some mailserver along the way? BTW, I'm forced to use MS Outlook. Best regards, Roger

Hi again everyone, I am really getting deeper and deeper into Zope and find it amazing what you can do with it. Well, I would rather be supposed to take care about my studies - but that's a different story ;-)... As I go further and further, of course more and more questions arise. Usually I try to find the answers in the mailinglist's archive. If there is another good (searchable) source of information, could someone please point me to that. Ok, now my question: I want to count the number of files within a folder (the folder does not have subfolders), so I can say "This folder countains ## pictures". How can that be done? Is there a new bug here? I have Apache as frontend then proxy passes through a mod-rewrite to zeo clients. The thing that happens now is that there is not much load in the clients but apache says that: "(111)Connection refused: proxy connect to 190.200.1.23 port 8080 failed" What happened? Weird. The clients when accessed locally by themselves and not used to be live in the internet, work except when they go live. In short, when the zeo clients are not connected to the internet and accessed locally, they work well. But when they go live or are connected to the internet and visitors come, they seem to hang. and i get the messages like above. Oh yeah, I also get this error message in apache: "[warn] child process 5863 did not exit, sending another SIGHUP" Please help me. The server having this problem is the production server. Thanks.
