problem with ZClass

Hi all, I have a simple zclass with a propertysheet and three Base Classes: ZObject, CatalogAwareBase, _ZClass_for_MSWordDocument. I have modified the add_Form for the input of my properties and I have set up the Properties view to propertySheets/myZclass/manage. When I add a new zclass object all works but when I select it, go to the right-hand frame of the management interface and click on a tab (the view tab, the properties tab...) the browser (Ie 5.00.29) open a new window. Someone can explain me why ? I use Zope 2.3.3 and Win2k. Excused my bad english and thanks. Michele

Inserting variables into expressions

I want to insert an image tag into a page from a given folder: <dtml-var "aFolder.anImage.tag(border=0, align='right')"> Rather than this inserting 'anImage' I would like to be able to insert a variable name in the place of 'anImage' so it will instead place an image defined by the request. Not persistent on all classes please

I have a class in a product, which inherits from another product which in turn inherits from another product class. Consequently, I have inherited from the persistance class which makes object stick in the ZODB after you close it down. Now that's nice and all and there's not much I can do about it. But suppose that in this particular subclass I do NOT want the persistance base class. I don't want these objects to stick in the ZODB. Is that possible to cicumvent? I would like to do something like this: class Subsubsubclass(basecomponent, - persistance) Peter PS. All I know about persistance is that if you base class it, you automatically get persistent objects. How it happens, I don't know.

ZSQLmethods don't return a list?!

I know how to get a FileUpload object using a <input type="file">-tag in a dtml-Document. But I want to do the upload automatically: I have a python script A with a list of (PathOfFileToUpload,TargetFolderObject)-pairs which is to call a python script B for each item in the list, handing over to it the path of the chosen file and the target folder B is supposed to upload the file into? I then have to convert the file's path into a FileUpload object first and then use manage_upload with it, like def B(TargetFolderObject,PathOfFileToUpload): TargetFolderObject.manage_upload(FileUploadObject(PathOfFileToUpload)) So my remaining question is: how do I create a FileUpload object from the chosen file's path? Annoying DLL errors at startup

First, did anyone go for the granite offer? -;^>= I have zope 2.4.1 running on a w2k laptop with python 2.1. When the thing boots (often) I always get this message: python.exe - Unable To Locate DLL The dynamic link library python15.dll could not be found in the specified path: C:\MySpleen\.....blablabla Zope uses python2, so could it be a product? Where are the logs on a w2k zope install? Anybody have any insight to how to make this go away? Is this a problem with the bundled python that comes with zope?

Undead ZClass properties

Hi Paul I'm writing because I had the same trouble that you describe on this page: http://www.zope.org/Members/paulabrams/howto_deleteundeadzclassprops For the sake of the list, I quote: I noticed that when you delete a property in a ZClass, it doesn't actually delete the property in instances of that ZClass! This leaves zombie properties lying around where they can be inadvertently acquired, causing problems that are difficult to trace. Since these properties override properties set in the REQUEST, if the do get acquired they are difficult to override. I logged this bug in the collector, which affected my Zope 2.1.6 install. Maik Röder was kind enough to email me the solution below. He solved the problem by adding this External Method, and calling all instances with it:: #move_attribute?the_id=abstract def delete_attribute(self,the_id): self._delOb(the_id) On Zope 2.3.3, this gets me:: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: _delOb I tried 'manage_delObjects(ids)' and 'manage_delProperties(ids)', without success. I'd like to ask whether you've learnt anything new about this problem since 2000/12/05? Also, could you tell me what the Issue Id of this issue is in the collector? I tried searching at http://classic.zope.org:8080/Collector/ but without success. Regards, Jean Jordaan
