Importing ZFloatMenu-1.0.zexp

I am somewhat new to ZOPE. Things are OK when they work. When they don't, I'm not far enough along yet... I am trying to import ZFloatMenu-1.0.zexp into Zope. This item required Renderer, which I have installed as a product. I am doing the import into a folder, starting the operation by pressing the Import/Export button in the Zope manage screen. I have published an internet bill of rights and responsibilities on the web at: http://216.17.175.171/WebSites/BillOfRights It is hosted at imeme.com, a great ISP for Zope hosting. Given the current attack on civil liberties on the web, there is a need to define and support our civil liberties. I would like to ask people to help me extend this website with weblogs, email lists, graphics, databases, and whatever else you can imagine. Of course I need Zopistas to make this happen. Uhhm, no but you could try http://zope.nipltd.com/public/lists.html just take not about the search syntax, it differs from the syntax of google and altavista - it defaults to substring search if you search for "nt service acl_users", I'm mentioning that because I can't get it in my dumb head myself. I tried "nt and service and acl_users" and got some hits ... HTH, oliver

is this a browser problem?

On each member's "Change User" screen in acl_users, I can only seem to select one role at a time from the menu, or use shift-click to choose adjacent roles. This is using Mozilla (linux.9.3), Konqueror, IE(MacOSX) and Omniweb. Also, the menu to remove roles only brings up one or two roles or nothing? Can I change these by hand somewhere? Anyone else have this problem? --Tom

Mailing List Archive Indexing Quality

Anyone have any idea why the archive indexes are essentially useless? I tried searching for "acl_users" from the link available at http://www.zope.org/Resources/MailingLists and it returned all 76,000+ messages in the archive. One of my colleagues has this problem under IE 5.0 for some reason... I wonder if this is similar. On another weird browser/ZMI note, can anyone explain this: I have a virtual host setup using a VHM accessed through a proxy, and use IE 5.5; when I access the ZMI, and right click on a tree link in the left frame to open the link in a new window, all subsequent clicks in that pane open manage_main in a new window as a target? I've only seen this on this setup, and not natively accessing the same Zope server(s) without the virtual host setup. Weird, isn't it? DTML and ZPT editing in XEmacs

After much tinkering (since I'm no LISP guru), I finally figured out how to get XEmacs to automatically go to html-mode whenever you open a .dtml or .zpt file. Maybe this will be useful for others. In your .emacs file (normally in your home directory), just add the following two lines to the end: (add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '("\\.zpt$" . html-mode)) (add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '("\\.dtml$" . html-mode)) Shane

Encrypted EMail with ZSMime

We have implemented encrypted email using M2Crypto and ZSMime (thanks Ng!) in the past using Netscape Messenger with no problem. However this time, we need to implement it using Outlook as an email client. We can successfully import the certificate (created with OpenSSL) into Outlook, but it dooes not appear as an option when we try to set up an individual account for encryption.
