Ok, lets say i store a Julian date in "timestamp". How on earth do i convert it to a Normal date? What i want to convert is: <dtml-var timestamp null="">

Formulator override method does not work

Help!!! I am using the Formulator product in an attempt to create a MulitListField which will select from a list of topics, which are properties of the documents in a folder. The override method is a python script: results=[] for object in context.objectValues('STX_Document'): if object.getProperty('topic') != '': tuple = object.topic, object.topic if tuple not in results: results.append(tuple) results.sort() return results The script works in the "Python Script" manage window when I select the "test" tab. But when I actually run the DTML file that calls the form, I get an empty multi-list field. I've downloaded the Wing IDE and stepped through code: it seems to have identified the override method properly, but it doesn't seem to do anything with it. The form code follows: <table border="0"> <dtml-in "form.get_fields()"> <dtml-let field=sequence-item> <tr> <td><b>Sort by <dtml-var "field.get_value('title')"></b></td> </tr> <tr> <td><dtml-var "field.render()"></td> <td><dtml-var "field.get_value('description')"></td> </tr> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> <tr> <td><input type="submit" value="Select"></td> </tr> </table> <dtml-var "form.footer()"> Am I doing something wrong???

ZClass-Inheritance Problem

Hi there... i have a ZClass (name: class1) and another ZClass (name: class2) which inherits from class1. Class1 has a dtml-method called doSomething(). Instances of class2 are supposed to use this method in an extended way which would look like this: <dtml-comment>doSomethingMethod of class2</dtml-comment> <dtml-call doSomethingOfClass1> <dtml-call doSomethingElse> My question is: how can I make a method of class2 call its parents method? 2.4.3 cpu usage

I discovered, that Zope 2.4.3 uses about 24% of CPU instead of the usual 0.1 - 1% the <2.4.3 versions are using (there are parallel instances from 2.3.3 to 2.4.3 on the same machine). Although this shouldn't be a problem: is this normal behavior in 2.4.3 or not? DC Zope Python User Group Meeting this Wednesday.

ZPugDC Meeting on 16 Jan 2001 I just wanted to remind you all that in about the next ZPugDC meeting this coming Wednesday in Reston, VA. The next Zope Python User Group meeting in Washington, DC, is on Wednesday, 16 January 2002 from 7pm. There are rumors that there will be libations and snacks and its not to be missed! The fabulous Joya Subudhi has organised it so its bound to be something to remember. Foretec is organising Python 10 this and every year! Its really the only US Python conference and we really want to support them for this. For this reason -- and many others -- we are honoring Python in the month of January and the next ZPug is in honour of Python 10! Ring in the new year with a big dose of ZODB with Andrew Kuchling as he crows about his amazing use of the Zope Object DataBase as he and his company, MEMS Exchange, uses it in their Python development. Also, to brag, ZPug got a mention on the OnLamp so check that out. Finally, yes the Mailing list is temporarily down, we have moved to iMeme and they rock -- throw money at them, they are the coolest and have generously offered to host Zpug for free for 9,999 months at least. A small note on security assertions

If you are like me and don't like to start coding from scratch, but rather like to start modifying an existing and proven source skeleton, like the Boring product for example, one small piece of advice: watch out for conflicting declarations. It took me over one month (give or take) to find out why all my security assertions (such as 'security.declareObjectPublic()' and such) were totally ineffective: because I left '__ac_permissions__' skeleton code hanging. Once that was commented out, all worked finally as advertized. Still, a month of wasted search, running like a headless chicken through sources and docs. Painfuland frustrating. I hope this little note might save someone similar frustration.Because once once one gets over such stupid but unforgining mistakes, Zope is really, really great. Cheers, Vio
