You might be helped by looking at: http://twsite.bizland.com/ Under the tech tips section, you'll see "Zope on Windows NT". Under that section, "Converting Manually Run Zope to a Service ". Thierry, Aha.. thats the deal. Gunzip is the compression utility that makes a .gz file, which often is a compressed tar file. AFAIK tar is an age-old utility that is for tape backup drives. A hack to the source allowed a tap file to be a local harddisk file instead, but tar ain't so great. So Gunzip is used on top of that. What you have is the TAR file that is still a compressed file, thus you dont have anything that is usable yet. Reopen this tar file with you decompressor and uncompress that and you should get the desired results. If it wont open the tar file, get winzip or something. You are on a win32 machine yes? problems with MailHost

Hi there, I started to use MailHost on a Zope 2.42 installation. What I do is as follows: <dtml-sendmail mailhost="MailHost"> to: robert(a)redcor.ch subject:Das ist die Testmail from:Halleluja Das ist der Body von dieser Mail </dtml-sendmail> I get a traceback as included. Now my questions: What could be the reason? There were updates to the MailHost. Can I use the ones from the CVS trunk? If not is there a Zope 2.42 (or 2.43) compatible version? how to use FSSession

Hi, I try to download the FSSession. So I download the FSSession-0-4-2.tgz (the server works with Windows win32). I use Power Archiver to untar this file on the zope directory. A new file called fssession has been created but this is an unknown file..and Nothing in the folder Products has been created. What I have to do with this file ?? how can I execute it ?? Zcatalog result as sorted list

I would like to emulate the library OPAC search function with Zcatalog : The search operation will be performed as a sort operation on the related key, and the result page with the best result in the middle of the page, the user have the oppunity to browse the result in context (some not satisfy the search critera) and can do prev page next page to continue browsing. None returned from manage_edit

<dtml-var "myDTML_Method.manage_edit(data, title)"> returns 'None'. It saves content correctly, but why is "None" displayed? And how do I stop it from displaying? 2-fer: What is the syntax to replace myDTML_Method with its id? <dtml-var "id.manage_edit(data, title)"> gives me an AttributeError/class Cachable has no attribute "namemanage_edit". I tested and <dtml-var id> displays the correct value, but how do I call the object via a property using id with manage_edit? TFTH, Trevor

Making products that contain multiple classes

I became interested in trying out the new mxm product which offers a reusable base class for products, mxmSimpleItem. I thought I'd try to create the Student/Teacher/Course classes, with which I could later try out the mxmRelation product. (Objects with manageable relationships/references are the thing I've been waiting on to really get started with Zope) I tried to create my three classed in one product. I finally have all classes, but all objectmanager adds call the third classes constructor. If I add a Course, I still get a Teacher in its place, because that's the final definition of the manage_addForm and manage_addAction. Are multiple classes per product something that just isn't done, isn't done with mxm, or is easily done once I know the trick?
