Zope Logout

Greetings Zopistas! I'm currently working on a site where I have one requirement left to fulfill before I can release. I need to be able to allow users to logout and sign in as someone else. After doing some research I came up with some DTML that looks like this (I don't have the code in front of me, but it's pretty similar): <dtml-raise Unauthorized> You are not authorized </dtml-raise> This does log the person out, but also generates a pretty ugly error message. If possible, I'd like to use a redirect. However, this still raised the Unauthorized error: <dtml-raise Unauthorized> <dtml-var expr="RESPONSE.redirect('/')"> </dtml-raise> Finally, I tried a try/finally block which still errored out: <dtml-try> <dtml-raise Unauthorized> You are not authorized </dtml-raise> <dtml-finally> <dtml-var expr="RESPONSE.redirect('/')"> </dtml-try> Any advice that anyone can provide would be MOST appreciated. 1) as previously responded, depending on your hardware, no reason you can't have zope and zeo on one machine. BUT, the point is that you want to distribute your processing. I've always said "one function one machine. got another function? get another machine". The zeo clients do all the work, and should be powered appropriate to your web demands, but the zope server can be a small machine as it does little work, once everything is running. SO as to your performance issue, it depends on your machine, which I guess must be small, but I've notcied that python-running-zope is quite CPU intensive, so running two zopes on one machine might be pushing its limits. NFGnav problem

I'm trying to implement NFGnav and running into problems. Off the root of Zope I have created a subfolder called /intranet. I have created a SiteRoot in that folder so I can have Apache rules point to it. I have followed the instructions and created an instance of NFGnav and called it NFGnavCore in my SiteRoot. I then copy the LevelTrail code into my index_html file. When I try to view the index_html it comes back with: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: object is not callable: 'intranet' Why is it doing this? Thanks Allen May MCSi Web Admin 800.842.1702 x7628

ComputedAttribute

Hi What's a "ComputedAttribute"??? I've done my work looking everywhere... Neither the Zope Book nor other documents say nothing about it. In Dieter Maurer's book they're menctioned but no details. Searching at zope.org and the mailing list archives, I've just found a few references ("a ComputedAttribute is useful here" or things like that), but nobody says what a C.A. really is. Looking at the Zope sources I've found a few modules using it. I guess a ComputedAttribute acts like an instance attribute but really it's implemented as a method. That would be useful for delegation. But in DTMLFile class: def _get__roles__(self): ... compute something and return that... __roles__ = ComputedAttribute(_get__roles__, 1) what's the second argument? call an object from within a product

Hi there, my question is probably quite stupid, but I can't find the answer anywhere: how to call an object from a product? I would like to obtain exactly the same result as if the object was called through the web or with dtml-var. I wrote something like: #get the object object = self.unrestrictedTraverse(url) try: #Call the object as a DTML method htmlsource = localObject.__call__(object, REQUEST) except: #Call the object as a folder htmlsource = localObject.index_html.__call__(object, REQUEST) This works for folders and DTML Methods, but not for images... I would like to let ZPublisher do the work for me!

Hello, I have now substituted THUNKED_TM with TM - but with no effect. The DA didn't break but still queries are serialized. So probably it's a question of the underlying library and i can't to anything about it? To answer Brad's question: our OS is Linux.
