Have you verified that zope is running? Unless you set it up as a daemon/service, Zope won't restart when you reboot. Even then, sometimes it takes a couple trys to make services load correctly. :-) If you installed it on Win9x, closing that Python dos box will stop the server. First guess... more available if that doesn't help. objectValues ques

I have a dtml-tree method: <dtml-let root="site"> <dtml-tree name=root branches_expr="filter_tree_nodes()" nowrap single skip_unauthorized> <dtml-var id> </dtml-tree> </dtml-let> where site is a folder in my zope install and a PyScript:: excl_list = ['acl_users','errors','layout','site_admin','sql_methods','util'] obs = context.objectValues() for ob in obs: if ob.getId() in excl_list: obs.remove(ob) return obs Now the strange part is that is 'site' were a LocalFS object this works fine.... but the moment 'site' is a folder in my Zope root, I get an Unauthorised (Cannot access objectValues in this context) error, even though I am logged in as manager. Why does this happen?? Zope Product Automation?

Hello, I have written a product that uses an SQL database and ReportLab to generate dynamic reports. I then use MailHost to send the generated report via email. I would like to add some automation fuctions to the product. By automation, I mean, "At 4:00pm generate the 'Daily Productivity' report and email it to bob(a)bigcorp.com". A Zope macro (sort of). What I need help with is this: What Zope API functions should I use for automating a sequence of events with ReportLab and MailHost? The only solution I have visualized so far is to write an external method that uses mxDateTime to perform various functions based upon the current _.ZopeTime(). I use something very similar with a python script, but I'm using tabs '\t' as delimters, and also wrapping the python script that outputs delimited text with a dtml-method that does the following before calling the said python script: <dtml-call expr="RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-type', 'application/csv')"> Perhaps the trick is to name the file with an .xls extension, but the mime-type stays csv? Hello ZopeU, Z SQL method insert into table values( ..., ..., <dtml-sqlvar defaultDate type=string optional> ..., ) If optional is used an error occurs due to null value. Any suggestions or solution for a defualt value for defaultDate if the user does not input a date??? Kind of hotfix

Hi, I want to make a kind of Hotfix product. Here is what "__init__.py" (from my hotfix product folder) contains: import OFS import Globals OFS.ObjectManager.ObjectManager.manage_main=Globals.DTMLFile('dtml/main',globals()) # line 1 OFS.ObjectManager.ObjectManager.manage_options= # line 2 ( {'label' : 'LocalRoles','action' : 'manage_main','help':('OFSP','ObjectManager_Contents.stx')}, ) "line 1" si OK, it works, but "line 2" does not. The syntax used in "line 2" is the same as the one in "OFS/ObjectManager.py" in ObjectManager - manage_options member. For OBS.Folder.Folder.manage_options it works, only for ObjectManager it don't. It is very spooky, why can I overide manage_options from Folder and cannot overide manage_options from ObjectManager. I thpought maybe the syntax is wrong, and I tried diferent syntaxes. Even if I use: OFS.ObjectManager.ObjectManager.manage_options=() I cannot see any results... :( Very curious, don't you think... newbie : Anonymous with Manage Properties

hello, again a newbie question : I make a Page Template and give on it Manage Properties right for Anonymous. but when using method has_permission('Manage Properties', here) it answer None for Anonymous and 1 for other user Auth and Manager. Why the Security option seem does not works for Anonymous ? Thanks, Cyrille

Reading file contents in Python

I have form (ZPT/Python) that allows the user to enter some text, basically by modifying a template. Originally, the template was in line, but I would like to factor it out into a file for easier editing. I can use the construct <textarea tal:content="here/default_html"></textarea> in the ZPT, but I would really like to be able to do this in the controlling Python script. Unfortunately, container.default_html() does not work. The MIME type is set correctly. So how do I obtain the contents of the file? ExternalEditor auth problems

I have developed authentication problems with the external editor. It's worked fine for quite a while but yesterday stopped letting me save back to zope. I've tried multiple users including the superuser. I've added all WebDAV permissions to owner/manager/authenticated. I've restarted the server after each change and relogged in. I have another Problem: I have SuSE 8.0, The Zope 2.5 already exist in this distribution. To start it I use next comand: /etc/init.d/zope start Than I try to open in my browser: http:/localhost:8080/manage It is opened without problems. Problem is next - WICH pasword used by default. I can't logon to my manager: I can't change password. What I should do in this case. Thanks.
