Hi, Are there ownership experts here ? I noticed that in lib/python/AccessControl/Owned.py in the Owned class, the "object.changeOwnership(user)" (line 97) method calls "new = userInfo(user)" (line 234). Then userInfo() checks "user.aq_inner.aq_parent" (line 240) The strange thing is that an user object (from any acl_users) has no "aq_inner" nor "aq_parent" attribute. And this raises an AttributeError when trying to change ownership. Did I take a wrong user object type (acl_users.getUser('foo')) or is this another bug ? Web publishing using Zope and GNU TeXmacs

Hi, We would like to have tools for publishing on the Web, using Zope and GNU TeXmacs (see http://www.texmacs.org) The main idea is very simple: 1. Have one or more web sites running under Zope where documents will be published. 2. Make it possible to load/save TeXmacs documents directly from/to such a web site. In addition, we would like to have tools for being able to decorate pages, annotate pages, referee pages, catalogue pages, search the site, rate pages, costumized navigation, history management, display news on (certain topics of) the site, automatically create online journals, and much more. We are searching for volunteers who know Zope well to help us with this project. The idea would be that one group of people writes the necessary tools on the server side (which might also be useful in combination with other frontends than TeXmacs) and that we take care of the application side. We might start as follows: 1. Someone sets up and maintains an experimental server somewhere on the web (later this might be done on texmacs.org) 2. We agree on a good protocol for saving & loading documents. One might for instance use the post method of a form in order to save (a region of) a document. 3. We are working on Html/Xml converters and web support inside TeXmacs; it would be nice to automatically generate Html translations (for instance) of TeXmacs documents (there might be some information loss here, like the disappearing of mathemematical formulas). Then we might provide an Html version of a page when browsing the site using a conventional navigator and the TeXmacs version when browsing using TeXmacs. 4. Create the necessary administration tools for managing permissions, passwords, etc. This should be easy in Zope, but we might need some conventions on how to do this in combination with TeXmacs. 5. Find a way to automatically decorate the TeXmacs documents, downloaded from the Web, like providing a dynamic header and a footer. These decorations might be in Html (modulo a better Html->TeXmacs converter). As a first goal, these tools may be used to create a collaborative website for the documentation of TeXmacs itself. This might be a good test for a very basic implementation. Next, the implementation might evolve towards a more complete publishing system. So: are there any volunteers ? Maybe it is possible to adapt some existing work on this? ZPT and traverse_subpath (Python Script)

Hi, is it possible to use traverse_subpath inside a python script, that is called by a ZPT ? I tried the following simple test. I call a PScript from a ZPT some extra path info. I expect the ZPT to replace "to be replaced" with a list containing the remaining path elements. But it's not working. CMF/ZPT where is the stylesheet?

Insert Help

All: I want to insert to a database a id and a option, however each id can have more than one option. And I want them inserted separately to make 2 records. The form will be checkboxes they check all the options they want and they all get save in the database seperately but with the same id. I've tried to no luck. Can anybody help? Thanks, Todd

File Upload via python

Hi all, I've been playing around with Zope for several days and really like it. I'm amazed at how simple so many things that take alot of effort in php, asp etc. are amazingly simple in Zope. One of those things is file upload, which works but still puzzles me. I have a form in a dtml method that looks like this: <table> <form method="post" action="testAction" enctype="multi-part/form-data"> <tr><td><strong>FileTitle</strong></td><td><input type="text" name="item_title" maxlength="30"></td></tr> <tr><td><strong>Select File</strong></td><td><input type="file" name="item"></td></tr> <tr><td align=center colspan=2><input type="submit" Value="Add File"></td></tr> </form> </table> I figured out that using a python script I can add the file just by referencing it's name from the form, which is incredibly cool: context.manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addFile('newFile', item_title, item) What I'd like to do is easily grab the filename: context.manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addFile(item.filename, item_title, item) My question is, how do I get the filename or headers? I'm guessing that when I reference 'item' I'm getting a FileUpload object. What confuses me is that I can't reference item.filename or item.headers['Content-Type']. I've also tried using REQUEST['item'].filename like I've seen in several examples. What am I doing wrong here? METAL & parameters?

It is not obvious to be whether this is possible or not. The tal:attribute clause is invalid as I have nested tags. Is there any xml-ified version of the good old fashioned C #define functionality for this situation?? ZPT doco errors

Hi, I am not sure if this has been raised before on the list (a quick search of the archive did not indicate so), but Chapter 9, Advanced Zope Templates (pdf version), has an example on page 157, batching, with the ZTUtils Batch class, with the following: <body tal:define="employees here/getEmployees; start python:path('request/start') or 0; batch python:modules['ZTUtils'].Batch(employees, size=10, start=start); previous python:batch.previous; next python:batch.next"> The line: start python:path('request/start') or 0; should read: start python:path('request/form/start') or 0; The default to zero does not work for me either. Instead I get a keyError on request/form/start not found (which goes away if I call this template with a hidden value). Assistance in fixing this would be appreciated too. ObjectManager instance as an attribute of python product

I've written python base classes with something like this: class MyObjectManager( CatalogAware, ObjectManager ): pass class MyClass( CatalogAware ): contents=MyObjectManager() ... In a ZClass that subclasses MyClass I create a view (amongst others) that points to a dtml method like this: <dtml-with contents><dtml-var manage_main></dtml-with> I can access the view on an instance of the ZClass, but when I do so, I lose all the management tabs for the MyClass ZClass and none of the links are correct in that they all point to ".../MyInstance/manage..." intead of ".../MyInstance/contents/manage...". There's plainly a lot I'm not getting here, and I'm not at all sure where to go from here.
