Anybody know whom I should contact about a very odd bug in the portal at cmf.zope.org? There's no contact information on the site (and not much else of use, that I can find). -- Bruce What would Edward Woodward do?

I have a site running with Apache. <VirtualHost *> ServerName www.mxm.dk DocumentRoot C:/inetpub/wwwroot/www_mxm_dk DirectoryIndex default.htm default.html index.html index.htm RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/kunder/ots/(.*) http://192.168.1.60:8080/$1 [P,L] </VirtualHost> Behind it I have another machine running with Zope. If I do: http://www.mxm.dk/ I get my apache-served static file allright. If I do http://www.mxm.dk/ots/ I also get the page served by Zope. But any relative link on the page has the adress: http://192.168.1.60:8080/somelink when I would expect them to have the adress: http://www.mxm.dk/ots/somelink Somehow Apache returns the ip adress of my private IP, and what I am interrested in is the domain name. It's probably something simple, but the docs at: http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mod_rewrite.html are somewhat unclear as to what I am doing wrong ... please ... regards Max M

Hi, I've managed to get Formulator to work with ZSQL (postgresql) methods for Add and listing contents as documented in the HOWTO. Are their any examples for using Formulator to update database records ? You nee to populate the form with the current values first, then post the results back normally. I've found one work around that seems to do this with a separate for forms for adding and updating, but I was hoping for some solution that does both with one form. Has anyone done this, or can you point me to a page that might have more information. Passing Dictionary

I'm trying to pass a dictionary from a form to a script. The following are snips from the Page Template that contains the form. ----------------------------------- . . . <input type="radio" name="feed.calc_method:records" value ="ration_cost" checked> . . . <input type="hidden" name="feed.feed_cost_ton:float:records:default" value="0"> <input type="text" name ="feed.feed_cost_ton:float:records:ignore_empty"> . . . <input type="hidden" name="feed.fed_per_day:float:records:default" value="0"> <input type="text" name ="feed.fed_per_day:float:records:ignore_empty"> . . . ----------------------- What shows up in the REQUEST object is this: feed = [calc_method: 'ration_cost', fed_per_day: 6.0, feed_cost_ton: 66.0] This is not a dictionary (len(feed)=1) it looks like a one element list (that looks like it was or is trying to be a dictionary). How to redirect an unauthorized access ?

Hi, In my first page of my site I have a link named "Administration", reserved to the administrators. In fact, anyone may try this link and have a hope to connect. Unfortunately, when they try, they are rejected after three times, and they got this error ( an extract ) : $ZOPEROOT/lib/python/ZPublisher/HTTPResponse.py, line 581, in unauthorized I want to use the zope facilities in order to create a new html page for the people who wants to connect to my site, but without the rights administrator. I want have a look of my site with a special message to tell them that it's not possible, because they are not administrators. How can I do this? Where I have to lokk ta realize this ? Our development Zope 2.5.0 crashes frequently

Hi all, any thoughts? Has anyone had this experience? (and would you like to?) Our Zope development system is used by a small team of developers, up to 6 people. It has been crashing and restarting automatically 6 or 7 times a day, much to the annoyance of our programmers. I use both Stupid_log_file and "-M" detailed log file to record everything I can, and have grabbed requestprofiler.py, which is a very useful tool (Thanks!). (an aside, is there any other logging I can do, aside from coding something?) All our developers interface with the Zope "manage" function, as one would, and go directly through port 8080 (Z HTTP). One suggestion I have made is to access it via the FastCGI interface instead, just to see what impact that has. The Detailed Log shows me variously that for no apparent reason, GET /manage, /manage_main, or /some-product/subdir/sub/something/manage_workspace and so on cause this failure, which results in: zdaemon... Aiieee! 13215 exited with error code: 138 (or 139) I had asked you all last week, about what this above meant, and Jens & Dieter kindly told me descriptions are to be found in the OS's lib/errno.h file. Now, we use Solaris and/or openBSD, and this file helpfully says this number (in a range) is used by Xenix, and is thus not documented. Properties in a propertysheets unreachable

In a ZClass you can define a couple of propertysheets and stick properties in there that can be access from the instance like a "normal" property. # Explicit way print context.propertysheets.get('myproperties').getProperty('age') # ...or simpler: print context.age I'm developing a python product and now I can't reach my properties from my templates. I must use the explicity way to get to the values. # This works <div tal:replace="python:here.propertysheets.get('properties').getProperty('name_cookiekey')"></div> # This doesn't (which used to work when the product was a ZCLass) <div tal:replace="python:here.name_cookiekey"></div> What do I need to do to get simple access to the properties in the propertysheets I have? Sync Zope ext. method with a another process (Unix)

Hi, I need to wake up a (non Zope) process (or daemon) from an external method. This process is a long term process that cannot be run in sync with the external method (that returns in an asynchronous manner). Any idea for this ? Thanks in advance. --Gilles

ZSession (Newbie-)question

hi On my zope-site, I have a logging form. After a user logged in successfuly, a session (with ZSession) with the item "user_id" is set. If he wants to post a comment to a news article for example, there is a check if he have an active session or not. When he is logged in he can post. If he is not logged in, he have to login first. This works just fine... But, when a logged in user surfs to a subdomain (e.g. forums.mydomain.com) the check failes and the user have to login another time. A new session will be created... How can I create a session for the hole site? Not for every subdomain? thx for helping a newbie ;) Simon

Database adapter connections

Hello, I have a database adapter, Level3 (inheriting from Shared.DC.ZRDB.TM). All documentation I have found claims that such an adapter should be able to open multiple connections to the database, I see always one though. What am I missing? More detail : ---------------------- I have a folder, a database connection object, ZSQL method and a DTML document, that renders the ZSQL method. Zope is running in 12 threads. I call the DTML document from 8 simultaneous clients, the DTML document however renders one at a time (it takes a while to render), apparently serialized by the database access. There is only one (!) physical connection to the database, I would expect at least 8. How do I speed things up? I looked at DCOracle2DA as reference, cannot see a difference.
