Hi I have a number of external scripts which can take some time to return. How can I display a 'Please wait' or similar message to the user until the script has finished and then update the page. Thanks Dean Houghton

ZCatalog: AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'load'

Hi again .. I've been getting these for a long time. A retry succeeds, but it's ugly if it happens to a client. It also happens pretty often (say eg. every 20th time I upload something to Zope). I have packed the database, but that didn't help. How to allow users to change their passwords?

Hello, friends, I am attempting to implement the recipe for allowing users to change their passwords documented at <URL: http://www.zope.org/Members/msx/ChangeOwnPassword-mini-howto> However, it does not work for me. I believe I have coded the form and handler exactly as given in the howto (since I copy& pasted the code from the howto page), and I have given the handler method (changePassAction) the "Manager" proxy role. But when the "submit" button is pressed, I get the "Authentication failed" dialog, and nothing I enter in the subsequent login dialog will allow me to proceed. Cancelling the login dialog results in "Site Error: Unauthorized." Assistance would be appreciated. Incidentally, the platform is Windows NT4, and the Zope version is 2.5.0. 2.5.0 vs. 2.3.3 oddity w/structured text

I've got some structured text of the form Head1 Some text (indented 2). Head2 (indented 1) Some more text (indented 2) Head3 (indented 1) etc., and it all works fine under Zope 2.3.3. However, under 2.5.0, each succeeding Head2/3/4, etc., is one level lower, i.e., it gets rendered <h3>Head1</h3> <p>Some text (indented 2)</p> <h4>Head2</h4> <p>Some more text (indented 2)</p> <h5>Head3</h5> ... but *not always*. I can't figure out what the differences between the cases might be. It's possible that it's something to do with the fact that I moved the Data.fs from a Win2K box to my Linux server box, but under 2.3.3 it all works perfectly. Under 2.5.0 it doesn't. ZSQL Methods and SELECT functions

Hi all, I am using Zope 2.5.0 and the latest ZMySQLDA. I have a few related questions. 1) If I insert a new row into the mysql database that has an auto_insert column (say 'id'), how do I get the automatically generated id? In mysql you would use the LAST_INSERT_ID() function, but this doesnt work in a zsql method 2) The reason 1) doesnt work is that zsql methods (and the underlying python-mysql db interface) doesnt seem to allow select functions. Something like SELECT 1+1 doesnt work. Is there any way of getting this to work? 3) Actually, I see from the python mysql db interface that the cursor object has an insert_id() method. Does the ZMySQL DA allow any way of getting at this method? 4) Finally, the mysql docs say the last_insert_id() returns the last automatically generated id on a per-connection basis. If in zope only a single connection is made and a lot of clients are accessing it at once, how do I guarantee I get back the correct id? Permissions problem with 2.5.1b1

Hi everyone, I just upgraded to Zope 2.5.1b1 from 2.3.3 today and the following DTML is now producing a permissions problem that is causing the browser to ask for my Manager password. The following is a DTML Method that queries a TinyTable to retrieve some events which are filtered according to their dates. The events are printed only if their date is in the future (visit_date.isFuture()), but within 30 days (visit_date-ZopeTime() < 30). Dear List, does anybody know how to perform a link with a popup window within structuredText? "myLinkText":javascript:openwindow() does not work because the brackets "()" are not rendered by the stx of zope. Is it possible to render also the "()" or does anybody know to implicit call a function via variable i.e. without the brackets. Thanks for your help, Elena
