This may seem obvious to you but I'm running in circles .... After installing LocalFS and restarting Zope I get an error about the python15.dll 'not found'. I checked out the website and yes there it says 'Ad ^[Zope]/bin/lib/win32 to your system path'. Done that. Still doesn't work. In the command box I can see the proper path, but the pop-up telling me 'dll not found' still displays the OLD system path. I also tried altering AUTOEXEC.BAT, but still errors occur. Any suggestions? KR, R. (I searched my computer: no python15.dll, only python21.dll?)

call DTMLMethod with parameter from Python

Hello: I'm working in a skin within CMF 1.2 and Zope 2.5.0... I'm trying to clarify how to call a DTML Method with parameters from a python script. The docs I've read say to call it something like this: result_string = context.myDTMLMethod( None, _, optionalkey1='yada' ) But the python script I have is being called from a Page Template as a result of a form action. I don't understand how to change this to work without the _ or how to pass a REQUEST mapping to the DTMLMethod. Currently, when I make the call: result_string = context.formatResult() result_string actually contains the dtml code of formatResult (un-rendered) . What causes this? Lack of parameters? What am I missing here? Kind Regards, Damon.

Art folder (workflow issue)

A designer and I have been trying to set up some kind of reasonable workflow process involving Zope and DreamWeaver. One of the requests that has been made is to have an 'art folder' containing the graphics for the site at the top level. How would one go about referencing a graphic from this folder? I mean, suppose the system looks like: / art/ image_1 image_2 ... project/ subproject/ dtml-doc How would dtml-doc access art in the art folder? question how to access ZCatalog with python

Hi there, I have a catalog with a path- and a field index called path and page_type. in python I call them like this brains = Catalog({'path' : path, 'page_type':'personpage'}) Now I would expect that only records fulfilling both conditions would be returned. However all that mach the first condition are selected. Could somebody tell me where my assumption is wrong,and what remedy is appropriate. Thank you Robert www.redcor.ch

reinstall zope

after downloaded "page template", "ZUtils" aand "TAL" , i can't 'start' my zope-2.4.3 on my linux machine. file "start", line 2 reldir='dirname $O' ^ invalid syntax I download zope-2.5 becaause I do not find Zope-2.4.x-ti-zope.2.5. I build zope-2.4.5 but I can't start it Value error :computed value for NV_MAGICCONST deviates too much (computed 1.71277, expected 1.71547 I try a lot time. I need Zope. Cannot add tutorial: connection error

Hi all, I'm new to Zope and tried to add the tutorial to my workspace. After entering the ID and pressing "Add", I got this Mozilla (I'm running Zope under SuSE Linux/Mozilla0.9.9) error message box telling me "The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:8080" Additionally, I got the Python error message in the window where I started Zope (unfortunately in German, I'll try to translate it) python: Python/ceval.c:687: eval_code2: Zusicherung »(stack_pointer - f->f_valuestack) <= f->f_stacksize« nicht erfüllt. which is in English something like python: Python/ceval.c:687: eval_code2: Criterium »(stack_pointer - f->f_valuestack) <= f->f_stacksize« not met. WebDAV, Object types: Fie!

(First off, thanks for the tips on the breadcrumb stuff... I got it working) I've got some content I want to migrate into a new zope, and WebDAV currently looks like my best option (I'm on MacOS X, uploading to a zope living on a sun box). I've got the WebDAV working fine. When I drop *.html files into the dav windows, the files upload as DTML Document object types. The problem is, I want them uploading as Files, not DTML Documents, darn it... or at least, I seem to want to. See, when I put this in a python script: print context['content.html'] ... if it's a DTML document, I get the source of the DTML document, HTML escaped. By contrast, if it's a File (text/html), it just passes the HTML on through. So I guess there are two solutions, but I'll settle for one of them 1) How do I change the object type of an object? (I doubt this is possible, so a corollary would be, how do I get WebDAV to stop treating my .html files as DTML Documents) 2) How do I get a python script to recognize that if the content.html object is a DTML Document, it should not escape the HTML? -- Fred Hicks <iago(a)iago.net>

I have a site that I am setting up where students can upload draft versions of papers they are working on and receive feedback from the other students and teaching assistants. I would like to attach a small, lightweight (preferably threaded) discussion/forum where students can add comments, other students can respond to the comments, etc... ZClass view crashes on title_or_id

I have a Zclass which inherits from ObjectManager and have a property sheet set on the ZClass. I created a view associated with an index_html method that is defined for the ZClass. When I try to access the view, I get a pop up window asking for authorization (which always fails) and then when I cancel the authorization dialog I get Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access title_or_id in this context Here is index_html: <dtml-var standard_html_header> This is a test <dtml-var standard_html_footer> The problem is coming from the standard_html_header, because if I take out the header and footer, I display 'This is a test' as plain text without error. I as assuming that my ZClass should have inherited title_or_id and that something is not working right. Can anyone advise? I don't think this is really an authorization problem because I am logged in as a user that has Manager and Owner privileges in root. Thanks, John Hunter Zope-2.5.2
