you guys need to check the files on your server! everytime i try to download Zope-2.5.1*.tgz for linux, it actually saves as a .gz, which when i decompress is simply a file w/300000 plus lines of code--no install script no dirs, just plain text! what's more, when gave up on this, i downloaded the rpm, which installed everything except the ./start script and the executable! wtfo, i'd really like to explore zope but thus far it's really becomming a thorn in my side.

converting a manually run zope installation to a service

Hello, I did the following steps (from http://twsite.bizland.com/twzop0002.htm) to try to convert my manually run Zope installation to a service, but it didn't work. Virtual Host Monster, CMF, logging

Hello all, i have a CMF site which is mapped to a domain (say, www.mydomain.org) with the SiteAccess enhanced product's Virtual Host Monster. i am not using apache and do not want to. my problem is that the ZServer log writes requests for www.mydomain.org as '/' which makes it impossible to separate the log entries for this domain. does anyone know how to change the logging behaviour so that it writes the original client request into the log file, or at least gives me enough to make a clean separation? i have located the relevant logging code, but i'm unsure as to exactly what VHM does which changes its behaviour... cheers, Garry +-------------------------------------------+ Garry Steedman mailto:gs@styrax.com Styrax Associates http://www.styrax.com/ "The Good Man has no shape." +-------------------------------------------+

ZODBCDA broken in Zope 2.5 - help

Hello, We've an old system using Zope 2.1.6 that uses ZODBCDA to connect to an Access DB. We are in the process of upgrading Zope to 2.5.0. The latest ZODBCDA adaptor (on Win2K and Win98) gives broken product for this. The traceback is Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\ZOPE\lib\python\OFS\Application.py", line 531, in import_product product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "D:\zopedata\Products\ZODBCDA\__init__.py", line 91, in ? File "D:\zopedata\Products\ZODBCDA\DA.py", line 92, in ? File "D:\zopedata\Products\ZODBCDA\db.py", line 86, in ? ImportError: DLL load failed: A device attached to the system is not functioning. I suspect it is because it can't find a file sql.dll. I couldn't find this file anywhere either. Does any one know a solution for this? Many thanks in advance - vsb

ZCatalog doesn't find any obejcts.

I use Zope 2.5.0 on linux, and Apache along with a Virtual Host Monster and it works fine. What I do is: - Add a test-folder with some folders and dtlm-docs in it - Add a ZCatalog in the test folser, name it "search" - Click on it - Click on "Find Objects" - Click "all types" - Click "Find and Catalog" - And after 0.005 secs it comes out with "There are no objects in the Catalog."???? Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong?
