Something like LFS under Linux with Snapshot capabilities might be useful in this kind of case, because you can leverage this to back up a file at a particular slice in time. However, if that slice is taken in the middle of transaction committing to disk, you are likely to still run into trouble, but not something that couldn't likely be cleaned up later with something like lib/python/ZODB/fsrecover.py or something similar... Utility.py in PythonScripts

Hi Just discovered Utility.py in the PythonScripts folder. I am running my own server for my own app development and I'd like to run 're' and 'mysql' from PythonScripts. First impression is that I can - reality is a little different Have created folder with __init__.py and added code as per ReadMe allow_module( 'pre' ) stopped/started server Shows up Ok in ControlPanel Created a script import pre Option = "xxxxx" m = pre.match( "xx(x)xx", Option ) if m: print m.group(0) return printed match works Ok but group is unauthorised. Nested select or call a ZSQL method from another ZSQL?

Hi: I am not sure what is the better way to go, but I need to do a select statement using some input from another zsql method. I tried using <dtml-var sql_delimiter> but didn't get it work, the query is simple: select * from foo <dtml-sqlgroup where> id = <dtml-var sql_delimiter> select my_id from bar where user = VAR and class = CLA </dtml-var sql_delimiter> </dtml-sqlgroup> (I know this looks horrible, but not sure what the right syntax would be for that nested where and select statements. -------------- The only value I pass to this method are VAR and CLA, I would then expect the method to run the nested select query first, and then, once I got the value for 'my_id', I would like the outer select to be executed with the value I got from the nested one. I am not having luck, is the above the right approach? Or would it be better to just to a separate zsql method with the query inside sql_delimiter? If so, what would be the syntax? Python script: how can I have a copy of a variable?

Hi everybody, I have a problem with Python scripts and SESSIONS I can't even understand, so I hope I can shortly explain it. I put in REQUEST.status the currend process status. I put in SESSION[processID]['status']['dataTable'] the name of a table. Then I retrieve this name to the current status: REQUEST['status'] = SESSION[processID]['status'] During the process I need to change the name of the table: REQUEST['status']['dataTable'] = 'newName' When going back to SESSION[processID]['status']['dataTable'], I've lost my oldName, and I find newName! I've tryied shallow copy, argument passing, even renaming: nothing. I've searched Python resouces, even read again the tutorial: no clue. One thing works, but its absolutely silly: to use different names, like: SESSION[PROCESS_ID]['STATUS']['DATA_TABLE'] for storage session and then the usual naming during elaboration. Now, what am I missing? Any suggestion is welcome. TIA, p.t.

Clueless About <dtml-in> and Sequencing.

I'm struggling with trying to display 25 records out of a MySQL table at a time. I know what <dtml-in> does but not how to control how many results per page I get and how to create links that navigate between batches. How it works is that when the user arrives at the homepage, they see the first set of 25 records. By clicking on "Next", they get the next set of records. Can this be done with index_html or do I need a seperate page to display the next sets of batches and to navigate those sets of records?
