cannot import digest

Any idea why sha.digest() is not allowed for import? I am trying to do some simple password checking (SHA) with a db and it fails to import. Neither 'import sha' nor 'from sha import digest' work. Any ideas? Konstantinos Margaritis

Sorry, reposting because I screwed up the thread with my digest subject! I'm running Zope 2.5.1 under Debian Woody and the latest version of TransparentFolders that I could find on zope.org (0.3.2). I just created a simple test case: /test/ << folder tf/ << transparent folder hidden << dtml method index_html << dtml document index_html contains only "<dtml-var hidden>" Using Zope 2.4.2 under Debian Woody, I see the text contained in hidden when I view index_html. Under Zope 2.5.1, I get the error... Error Type: KeyError Error Value: hidden ...with the following traceback... how do i escape a name with . in it?

Hi, I would like to invoke an operation along the lines of: <dtml-in "dot.kde.org(sort_on='date',sort_order='reverse')" size=40> Unfortunately, Zope doesn't take too kindly to the fact that the Object I'm trying to access has a . in it -- it complains that Object "dot" does not exist. To be sure, my Squishdot instance has been called "dot.kde.org" since the site inception and I've worked around name problems as they presented themselves so far... How can I escape the .'s in "dot.kde.org" so that I can access it as a normal Squishdot object? Thanks! Navin.

WebDav Woes

Hi Folks I have a zope installation on an odd port (7070 for main requests, 7090 for webdav source) Anyway, I can do some uploads/downloads of objects in webdav, then after a while I get an error "An error occurred copying some or all files" when connecting with Windows Internet Explorer (open as web folder option) I suspect it has something to do with locking but restarting zope does nothing to correct the problem. Has anyone run into this before? -jim

"Diffing" between the versions of a property

Hello everybody, Would it be possible through a script to compare ("diff") between the different successive versions of a property (as you can do for the contents of a DTML document or method, through the "compare" button of the history tab)? I tried to write a Python script (ven External) but the import of the necessary ndiff module does not seem to be allowed. Any hint? Pierre Godefroy

Stupid newbie question

Hello everyone. I have a small problem. I was trying to install the etcUserFolder object on my Zope server so I downloaded the tarball and it extracted into the correct directory (lib/python/Products/etcUserFolder). I had to muck about with some sym-links to libcrypt on my box (It's running FreeBSD 4.4) and after a few restarts, it saw it as a successfully installed product. I then proceeded to delete my root acl_users folder (it only had one entry in it anyway) and add a new etcUserFolder object. Now I can't login at all to any of the manage screens to fix it. I tried the zpasswd.py script to generate an access (and an inituser) file to see if either of these would get picked up but it still won't let me log in. I tried using my UNIX system username and password and that didn't work either. I know that FreeBSD actually uses a /etc/master.passwd file to hold the encrypted passwords, not /etc/passwd so I don't even know if the etcUserFolder is looking at the right file. The documentation on this product is limited (from what I can find) to the two-paragraph README file that it comes distributed with. I've tried looking through the source code to see if I could get more information about the product but the comments aren't very helpful. I'm at the end of my ideas and short of scrapping the whole installation, can anyone suggest a way for me to fix this problem? If it's simply not possible (which I doubt), is there a way for me to retrieve the objects (DTML documents and such) that I've created and just re-install Zope completely? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David Archer

I try to write zsql method with behaviour based on result from another zsql method (simple select count(x) from table where x=...). If there are records for x i want to do something, but if not, something else. I tried to write something like that (x is an parameter of both zsql methods): <dtml-call zsql_count> <dtml if expr=""> something <dtml-else> something else </dtml-if> I dont know what to write as <dtml-if> expression.
