Send folder object from form to script

How do I send a folder instance from a form to a script? When I test my script with this code outside a form its working fine: <div tal:replace=" python:here.addProject(python:here.projects.objectValues(['Folder','Plone Folder']))" /> The script copys Page Templates from a list of folders and adds them to context. Trying to implement a simple mvc or how do you pass the REQUEST o bject when doing a redirect?

I have a product that I am attempting to do something like this: def controller(self): """ This will implement a MVC type paradigm for user administration. """ req = self.REQUEST f = req.form controldict = {'adduser': self.CreateUser, 'viewuser': self.ViewUser, 'edituser': self.EditUser, 'None': MessageDialog(title='Error: Action not Recognized', message='The action you took is not recognized', action='Admin')} controldict[f.get('controlaction','None')]() It would work except calling the dtml method like this causes there to be no traverse_subpath in the REQUEST object and I use that like this: def parseSubPath(self): """ Parses the subpath and gives us access to the variables contained therein """ set = self.REQUEST.set subpath = self.REQUEST.traverse_subpath idx = len(subpath)-1 jdx = 0 while jdx < idx: set(subpath[jdx],subpath[jdx+1]) jdx += 1 this allows me to put variables in the URL (it seems like there is another way of doing this but.... i don't know what it is). This code is called in standard_html_header and breaks with the controller code above. So, I either need to fix the parseSubPath code (there is a LOT of code that uses this so major refactoring to change) or I could change the controller method to do a redirect but then I need to be able to pass the REQUEST object from the controller method to the redirected object. DateTime Problem

Hi, I'm having problems with the date on zope... I have two system both running zope 2.3.2, one is running on a debian server the other is running on windows 2000, the debian zope incorrectly shows the timezone as US/Eastern where the windows zope shows it as GMT+10 (correct), which is not a big problem. The problem is when I do; (real time = 2002/07/25 13:24:01) <dtml-var expr="ZopeTime().strftime('%A, %d %B %Y')"> shows Wednesday, 24 July 2002 <dtml-var expr="ZopeTime().toZone('GMT+1000').strftime('%A, %d %B %Y')"> shows Thursday, 25 July 2002 doing a <dtml-var "_.DateTime('GMT')"> shows 2002/07/25 03:24:01 ten hours behind sure I could use the toZone function all the time but there must be an easy fix? Why does the debian zope think it's 10 hours behind, the date on the server is correct. is it a configuration setting somewhere? Dean.

Hi, Now that there are lots of web sites dedicated to Zope and its community, for example : zope.org zopezen.org zopenewbies.net zopelabs.com zopera.org zopegurus.de etc... I've noticed that most of them, if not all, invite the user to open an account before being able to do something useful (post a news message, a document of some sort, etc...) Considering that most Zope users are interested in most of these sites, except when the language is not english, and that some want to really participate, I think this registration process quickly becomes very boring, and remembering all the different passwords is difficult, unless you always use the same which is insecure. Couldn't it be possible that all these servers share the same authentication mechanism, i.e. only usernames and passwords, and do all their local stuff on their own (roles, possible actions, homepages, etc...), in one word (ok, two) : Centralized Authentication For example I suppose it would be possible, if every webmaster agrees, to use the very same LDAP directory, which might be replicated for redundancy reasons, to check username+pw when an user tries to authenticate. This would have the great benefit of checking not if someone is part of myownlittlezopecommunity.org but the WHOLE Zope community, this would also better solder this sparse community IMHO. Of course I understand there are strong security drawbacks to this approach, but anyway this might be very good to make a real network of web sites strongly related to Zope, and could only strenghten the Zope community presence on the web. <mode thispostshouldalsoincludeanMSrant="ON"> I know it's not better than what Mickey$oft plans to do, but while I trust the Zope Community (and ZC) I really don't trust the above named monopolist. </mode> Any comment or flame ? thank you for reading, anyway Jerome Alet

initalising zcom

Hi all, I'm trying to initialise zcom, to try and perform a mail merge with word! I'm following the instructions here: http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/993002968 and I'm stuck of course! Also, if I do ever get it working (and maybe this is the problem), the link above goes on to say.... * now you have access to COM, you still need to copy the winXX files from your python distribution (or win32all extensions by Mark Hammond). Select Count problem

Hello all. In a SQL Method I'm executing a select count query this way select count(*) as count from table where attrib=something now I want to get the results in a python script I try to get it with no success with the following SQLdata_datos_count = container.dic_datos_count(pdf_id=1) SQLdata_datos_count[0].count but I get a Error Type: TypeError Error Value: argument 2 to map() must be a sequence object what is the way to get the count data correctly thanks in advance Gerardo

user defined libraries

Silly question: How does one use use one's own library of Python classes (imported using an import statement) inside a zope'd python script?
