Hi! Is it possible to reload __init__.py (Python Product)? Up to now I restart zope if I make changes in initialize(registrar). Normal refreshing does not seem to work. thomas

I think a new user shouldn't be replicated to the Central Authentication server. A new user should be created directly on this server. Because: What would you do when the user already exists, but had a different password or mail address? Not allow this user to be created? Change his/her password or mail address? Create a second user? According to me each community member should have 1 user with 1 password (name it account if you'd like). Maybe it would be nice to have the possibility to have 1 mail adress for each mailing list. Just for those who want to keep these mails strictly separated. --Yvon Breuer

The link_MailtoSomeone is not a DTML document but a DTML method. Is a method not ok for this? Further: ad 1) I'll change it. Seems plausible. ad 2) You're right, but... I haven't learned Python yet. LocalFS guidance

I'm puzzled again. I'm using the manage_uploadForm to allow users to upload new files to my web site. The upload works fine, but after the upload, I want the user to be directed back to a page of the web site (/Maintain/Edit/Company/) instead of the default behaivor of putting the user at the manage_main page of the LocalFS directory where the file was uploaded to (which also prompts for a login, not good.). I'm using the following line to call the upload form: <form action="/images/<dtml-var "FSSession['LoginCompanyImagesPath']">/manage_uploadForm" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> /images is the LocalFS directory and FSSession['LoginCompanyImagesPath'] holds the subdirectory path where the files should be put. I see the following bit in the LocalFS changes files, but I can't seem to get a clue about how to implement a different "action" "Added optional 'action' parameter to manage_upload to allow redirecting somewhere other than the default 'manage_workspace'." Any help is appreciated. Jeff

change textfile

I am trying to make and change a textfile. I'm trying to do it this way: context.manage_addFile(id) getattr(context,id).manage_edit(title,data) This sets content_type(Property) to the value of data. I want to put the contents of data INTO the file, and have content_type to be text/html. Any suggestions? still problem with dtml-with

Hi, some days ago I've posted a message asking for help wrt a Python product : dtml-with didn't work with instances of this product. Toby Dickenson answered and gave me what I thought to be the solution : rename the "__call__" method I had defined to "index_html" Now dtml-with works, but dtml-var doesn't (it worked before). In other terms : if I put this in my product class definition : def __call__(self) : ... index_html = None this gives me : <dtml-var MyInstance> ==> renders correctly <dtml-in "objectValues(['MyClass'])"> <dtml-var oneMethod> ==> works correctly </dtml-in> <dtml-with MyInstance> <dtml-var oneMethod> ==> searches oneMethod in the container </dtml-with> and doesn't find it so doesn't work and if I put this instead : def index_html(self) : ... it gives me : <dtml-var MyInstance> ==> renders incorrectly as <MyClass instance at ffeeddcc> <dtml-in "objectValues(['MyClass'])"> <dtml-var oneMethod> ==> works correctly </dtml-in> <dtml-with MyInstance> <dtml-var oneMethod> ==> works correctly </dtml-with> So my question is : is it possible to have the best of both worlds ? I want <dtml-var MyInstance> to render it as HTML, and I want to be able to call some instances methods inside a <dtml-with>. calling external script from index_html

Hello list, just getting going and already belly-flopped at the first hurdle. In a folder holding the external method object, an index_html referencing it via <dtml-val myscript_func> does not appear to run the script, while a dtml method created in the same folder and making the same reference does run ok. I tried moving the external method object into a higher level folder in case it somehow was not in scope, but to no avail. What is the correct way to make external scripts available to index_html's? Equivalent to exc_info in python script

Hello All, I'd like to use examine the error type and value when an exception is thrown in a python script, equivalent to: err_type = sys.exc_info()[0] err_value = sys.exc_info()[1] But sys.exc_info can't be accessed from a script. I'm sure there must be an easy way to get at the error value and type, but I can't find it. Can anyone help? Thanks, Jim Gallacher
