Permission problem with ExternalEditor

Hi, I've got a problem with the ExternalEditor. It works for me, but I am in the manager role. Let's say, I've got a User X in the local role Y for the folder path /A/B/C Even if I grant _every_ permission to the role Y in folder C, the user is not able to open up his editor by clicking on the small pencil. Instead he gets asked for username/password. Which permissons do I have to grant to get this thing running for the user? When I grant him the local role "manager", it works, but I hesitate to do that. Thanks in advance Lars Reineke

Is there a way to center the page itself in the browser? I'd rather not use frames. Maybe a page specific dtml alignment tag? Yvon Breuer

Strange Folder problem

OK Tom, here it is: Via the list I found out that I had no TCP/IP on my stack. I understood that I needed a virtual NIC or a real NIC. I looked all over to find myself a virtual NIC for Win98, but no result. So, I installed a real NIC and I also changed some network settings. For some reason, allthough I then already had TCP/IP on my stack, Zope couldn't seem to find my localhost. [?] I uninstalled the NIC (+ drivers) and reïnstalled it in order to have a 'clean' (default) installation. >From then on everything worked just fine! Yvon Breuer [Tom P] Excellent! Re: so many zope books - which is prefered?

I agree that the Zope Book, available free online at zope.org, is the best book to start with. But I would say that I found the most value in Zope Bible as my second book. You have to learn to do Python if you're going to take Zope to where it can be and wants to go. The Zope Bible is the only of the books you mentioned that really digs into the Python aspects of Zope. Very informative and quite well done. Building new products in Zope -- which is almost certainly what you want to do even if you don't yet know that clearly -- is best done in Python, not using the Zope ZClasses, which are apparently quite fragile and obstreperous.
