I am using your CatalogQuery Product and I have a dubt to how make a expression to pass to the method query. If I write aexpression mixing "and , or " operator does it works? Hi, new(bie) question... What I want: ------------ - I'm trying to make my links as flexible as possible. - I'd like to have all links together in one folder. - I'd like to have all texts together in one folder. Reasons: -------- - Later I want to impliment multi-languages (for everything, so for links too). - I don't want to change every link implemented in my pages when some mailto- or http-address changes. - I'm lazy. I just want to make it once and let others maintain the textfiles if something changes afterwards. Hallo, It's never happened while doing anything via ZMI, but I had similar problem when I tried to save Polish characters in the Python product - due to Python GUI restrictions. Add an object and subobjects in a single pass?

Hello, I'm working with the Kube Product, and I have a situation where I would like to add a Kube (for those who are not familiar with it, it is basically a folder) and then add another Kube within the first -- but do it during a single pass. Currently, I have the following: (foo and bar are specializations of Kube -- they have the same interface, tho) id1, id2 = 'f', 'b' f = foo() f.id = id1 f.title = 'Foo Object' self._setObject(id1, f) f = self._getOb(id1) b = bar() b.id = id2 b.title = 'Bar Object' self._setObject(id2, b) b = self._getOb(id2) From here I have tried f.bar = b, f._setObject('bar', b) Both of these create a bar object that is a subobject of foo. I can go to http://host/foo/bar and I see bar. However, when I look at foo, I can't see bar as a subobject (like a folder would normally show a subobject.) Also, I add properties to bar, but I can't seem to get at them anywhere through the management interface. Any help? Thanks, VL

Multi-Developer Zope Setup

Hi. We just decided to use Zope/CMF for a large non-profit site that the agency I work for is building (wahoo!). I am trying to set things up correctly off the bat, and am struggling to understand how to incorporate version control with the Zope server. I have (re)read the chapter in "Web Application Development and Content Management" and am mostly sold on the idea of using ZCVSFolders (if its stable), but I am unclear on how to set them up (the docs here are minimal http://www.zope.org/Members/sspickle/ZCVSMixin/) Correct me if I'm wrong - I suppose the way I should do this is to add the VHM to Zope, creating a container folder underneath the Root Folder, creating folders for each of our developers below the this project folder container, and then adding the CVSFolder to each of their respective folders. (Next step will be to front Zope w/ apache to send everyone straight to their own "sandbox"). I downloaded ZCVSFolder 0.2.5 and copied it into the products directory, checked out my zopeObjects module in $ZOPE_HOME but it does not appear in the add product dropdown (I made sure to startup Zope as nobody, and nobody is in the cvs group). I Any suggestions? Am I on the right track? Thanks, Jonah

No offence, but maybe you misunderstood me or maybe I wasn't clear enough. So, let me retry to explain: I want to center the pages I've made in a similar way you have when you'd use frames, like: *,800,* (or even like: 10%,80%,10%). In other words: I want my page to be displayed in a fixed width in the middle of the browser. Resulting in a variable width for the left and right side. As far as I know the <center>-tags are not capable of doing something like this. Therefore I asked the list if there is something in DTML that can take care of this. If I HAVE TO use frames: so be it, but... I'd rather not. That's all, folks! ExternalEditor and IDLE on windows

Has anybody managed to use IDLE as editor with ExternalEditor? I tried setting: editor = C:\Python21\pythonw.exe "C:\Python21\Tools\idle\idle.pyw" But on Python Scripts I get syntax error in the shell because the Script contains a "return" but not a "def". Hello, I've been doing alot with Zope over the last few months and I just decided to get a bit deeper into it. My problem is that I'm trying to acces one object from inside a little python project. Is that possible? I mean: If I got a folder and I want do call the addImage method from a Python-class how do I do it?

Does anyone know of a product that will let me do this: >From a form, upload a file and some associated data. The file should be stored in the file system, and the associated data should be stored in a MySQL database. We will use ZSQL methods to give access to the files and data through Zope. The uploaded files cannot be stored in either the ZODB or the MySQL database, and the associated data must be stored in the MySQL database.
