Where does "Deals/Deals.py" exists? In a folder covered by PYTHONPATH? Maybe, your PYTHONPATH is different on the two machines? Does your "Deals" folder contain an "__init__.py" file? Dieter

Virtual Hosting and Stand Alone Zope Server Z2.Log question

Hello. I am running Zope standalone with no Apache, and a VirtualHostMonster in the site root. Zope is serving several virtually hosted domains. For example: www.xyz.com and www.abc.com Is there any way to separate out the z2.log for each virtually hosted domain (without using Apache). IE- write a separate log for each virtually hosted domain. It seems that AWStats should be able to do this, but I have had no success configuring that-- AWStats just brings back stats for the entire Zope server, including all virtually hosted domains lumped together (even with separate awstats.conf files keyed to each domain name). dtml-tree with interactive root

(My apologies if You already got this via Zope-forum. I'll avoid double-posting in the future.) I want to give the user the following functionality: 1. From some folder deep down the directory tree ("start folder") she/he may open a tree-view with the root at this start folder. 2. Interactively, she/he may create tree-views with the root shifted up by one or more levels up to the root of the Zope-tree (or wherever the rights allow). I tried to code this the following way: In the root folder there is a dtml-method called "show-tree" which does essentially this: <dtml-tree expr="REQUEST.PARENTS[uplevel]" skip_unauthorized=1 branches_expr="objectValues(['Folder','File','DTML Method','DTML Document'])"> <a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"> <dtml-var title_or_id> </a> </dtml-tree> This method is called from the "start folder" in essentially the following way: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-unless uplevel> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('uplevel' , 0)"></dtml-unless> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('uplevel', _.int(uplevel))"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('uplevelp', uplevel+1)"> <a href="<dtml-var URL0>?uplevel=<dtml-var uplevelp>">Up</a> <dtml-var show_tree> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> This works OK. I want something like this: flag=0 if ...: <dtml-in ...> ... flag=1 </dtml-in> endif if not flag: print something else endif But I can't figure out how to change a variable initialized by <dtml-let flag='0'>. How can I do this? This is really frustrating, I feel like a total idiot asking for help about such a basic thing! Add ExternalFile using Forms

Has anybody used the External File product created by arielpartners using purely forms? What I'd like to do is have a user create an image file that is stored as an external file and have information about the image stored into the mySQL database. The idea was to create a form that would gather information such as submitter, the name of the file to upload, title, caption, keywords, etc.. and have all of this information go into the mySQL database while at the same time creating an external file object using the product created by the arielpartners. My trouble is how do I use the external file product solely using forms? Is there any special labels I have to give each variable of the form fields? Also what is the method for adding an external file purely using forms? Right now I'm trying the following code to no avial: <form action="manage_addExtFile" method="post"> If anyone could provide any insight I'd appreciate it. Thanks, John Hazen

Hi, I am thinking of starting my own company providing web solutions - portal, Content Management, etc... Target market would be SME and enterprise that are cost-concious. In this over-crowded market, every other company seems to be able to offer anything under the sun. And a lot are choosing J2EE over here in South East Asia. To differentiate, I have to select a platform/solution that offers the competitive advantage such as rapid prototyping, fast development, flexibility to cater for changes, and cost-effective. All these which are lacking from my experience with the J2EE vendors so far... Which lead me to Zope - will it be able to provide these features? I am interested in Zope and will start to try it out soon. I'm impressed by the built-in GUI management interface.
