Hi together! The GNU tool source-highlight, a code beautifier by Lorenzo Bettini that produces syntax highlighted HTML and XHTML documents from source code, now recognizes Python, too. You can get it here: http://www.gnu.org/software/src-highlite/ The Python scanner was written by me and still needs some verifying; so if you find bugs (I hope not...), have suggestions or are simply full of praise ;-) you can send a mail to me. ZDiscussions redeux

oops, the ZBase code is not present in the product because it's Python... It provides the base classes for ZDiscussion -- a hardwired interface to ZItem and ZTopic objects. The part of ZDiscussion we've modified is the interface it presents. The question remains--how to package each of the modified interfaces into a ZClass in its own right.

ZDiscussions repackaging

We have repurposed the ZDiscussion product and now need to repackage it so we can easily create instance of our repurposed discussions. It would seem to be a straightforward thing, but it's been causing me difficulty. What we've done is modify an instance of ZDiscussion to do our bidding. Having gotten a version we like, we want to make it into a ZClass so we can instantiate instances of the revised ZDiscussion. And, truth be told, there are several different and distinct variations on the theme that we want to work in the same system. It should almost be as simple as copying code, but it isn't. There's an inheritence issue--ZItem and ZTopic (the inner classes) both inherit from ZBase. The code for ZBase is nowhere to be seen. It does appear that the ZClass names are hardwired somehowa. So, the goal is to take variations (significant variations) of ZDiscussions instances and refactor them into standalone products. How to do it? -dra

Tracking Users in Zope

For a research project, I need to do detailed tracking of individual user behavior, something on the order of the Z2.log file, but tied to a particular user's session. Basically I want to log the time of arrival and departure of each user on each "page" of the system. Anyone else tried this in the context of Zope?

LocalFS and adding folders dynamically

Hi, I am using a localFS to manage user uploaded files. When a user uploads a file I basically create a folder for the user using manage_AddFolder to the localFS object and then call manage_upload to upload the file to the newly created folder. The reason I do this is that there doestn seem to be a way to add folders to the localFS product using its API. The problem is LocalFS security settings dont have Allow Add Folder property and hence unless I am manager I cant call manage_AddFolder. I dont want to proxy the manager role for the containing folder because I dont want users to be (even if accidentally) add folders to the containing folder. What options do I have?? Is there any way at all to do it?? ANNOUNCE: Pound - reverse proxy and load balancer - v0.7

This is to announce the release of Pound v0.7. Changes from previous version: - added the possibility of inserting HTTPS-specific headers with the client certificate information into the requests that go to the back-end server(s). - changed the code to use BIO rather than the comm_ functions. - some minor bug fixes, especially on pattern matching: if you had problems with requests being rejected, this release is for you. What is Pound (from the Web page) - a reverse-proxy: it passes requests from client browsers to one or more back-end servers. - a load balancer: it will distribute the requests from the client browsers among several back-end servers, while keeping session information. - an SSL wrapper: Pound will decrypt HTTPS requests from client browsers and pass them as plain HTTP to the back-end browsers. - an HTTP/HTTPS sanitizer: Pound will verify requests for correctness and accept only well-formed ones. - an HTTP/1.1 to 1.0 proxy. - a fail-over-server: should a back-end server fail, Pound will take note of the fact and stop passing requests to it until it recovers. - a request redirector - it will pass client requests to separate groups of servers, based on required URL (pattern matching) For further information, download, etc. please see http://www.apsis.ch/pound The software is at version 0.7 (beta quality). ZCatalog - perfoming an or operation on different columns

How to show images in ZPT for ZMI?

Hello, This is probably a dumb question - don't know why, this should be simple, but I'm lost at the moment. I've a Py product, with management interface done in ZPT. There is some javascript and the interface needs 2-3 icons for "making it look good". Icons are GIF files in $INSTANCE_HOME/MyProduct/www . The same www folder has all the page templates too. Question: Within MyProduct/www/editForm.pt, what path should I use to show MyProduct/www/myimage.gif ? Tried myimage.gif, www/myimage.gif, Control_Panel/Products/MyProduct/myimage.gifetc. Late brainwave - Should I be somehow passing Image('www/myimage.gif')? If so, how?
