How to manage chapter-based documentation?

Everyone: Please excuse this if it's been covered before... I want my staff to create documentation about our work procedures in structured text. My idea was that each "chapter" would be contained in a folder. I would like these documents to automagically have a table of contents, back and next links, etc., as is common in DocBook-derived web-based documentation. I know that the Zope Book authors must have put together something like this to assemble their book. Is this available anywhere or is an alternative product like this available? http://backtalk.sourceforge.net/ Incidentally, I have sent an email to Chris McDonough a few weeks back about a partial mod of backtalk I have done that uses ReStructuredText (http://docutils.sourceforge.net/) instead of the Zope StructuredText (which has lots of problems IMO). Chris did acknowledge my email but never got back to me, and I haven't worked on it since then either, but if someone is interested, let me know and I'll post what I did so far somewhere. overload __getattr__ in brains-class?

Situation: I'm developing a product where some attributes come from one bunch of SQL-tables and some additional info is obtained by other means. The idea was to create a brain-class and overwrite __getattr__ to return the correct values from the different sources according to what key the application asked for. The objects are created (just like in DA.py) via objects=Results.Results(result,brain,parent,None) Now whatever I try, either some other __getattr__ seems to be called since I can get none of my "simulated" attributes to show up. Is it at all possible to do what I want to? Did I take a wrong turn somewhere way back? Any hints are appreciated. Use of mapply for calling ZSQL method

Hi, I need to call a ZSQL method from a product and after searching the archives it seems the best solution is to make use of mapply as directed in cduncans article which deals with this in zopeLabs: http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/1010674274 Unfortunately, due to my lack of experience with Python, I cannot get the syntax to work and would appreciate some advise. Here's what I'm trying to do. Please don't laugh :-( def __init__(self, sql_method_name): self.id=id self.data_source_id =sql_method_name def check_db(self, val1, val2, val3): """Check database to determine if item already exists""" object = getattr(self.aq_parent, self.data_source_id) res = mapply(object, (arg1=val1,arg2=val2, arg3=val3), REQUEST, call_object,1, missing_name, dont_publish_class, REQUEST, bind=1) return len(res.dictionaries()) The ZSQL method I'm trying to call (sql_method_name) accepts 3 optional arguments, represented here by arg1, arg2, arg3 and returns true or false depending on whether an item with the values supplied can be found within the DB. Hi, I am running Zope 2.5.1 on Slackware 8. Whenever a user ftp's into the zope ftp server (running on port 8021) zope dies. Any ideas? Thanks - Dan Jacobs

Hi all, Is it possible to run M$ Word from within Zope? I've done a bit of searching but found suprisingly little, I would have thought this was something lots of people wanted to do? Anyway, what I want to do exactly is call Word with a stream of data, to perform a Mail Merge. I'm converting some script that already runs in Visual Basic, is it possible to get a Visual Basic script plug-in for Zope? Sorry if that sounds a little crazy, I'm still learning! NT, 4suite and Zope

Hi, I've a NT server. In intend to serve XML files, with my Zope's site, I've installed 4suite. Or, with NT, I have no choice to install 4suite than under C:\4suite. But in any case under the Zope's lib/Product. The matter is that I want to use of XSLTranslatedDocument, and this one is waiting for the Ft.XML.Xslt, under lib/Products. It sounds like you have basic networking issues. When I start the START.BAT, my computer starts a dial-in to my internetprovider! It seems this occurs when START.BAT is trying to retrieve my hostname. When START.BAT is finished, I type in... <http://127.0.0.1:8080/manage> http://127.0.0.1:8080/manage (START.BAT comes up with 127.0.0.1 as localhost and 8080 as port) <http://popeye:8080/manage> http://popeye:8080/manage or <http://popeye:8021/manage> http://popeye:8021/manage (popeye is the computername in my Win98 network-settings and START.BAT comes up with popeye as localhost for port 8021) <http://localhost:8080/manage> http://localhost:8080/manage (should always work, right? Not!) <http://stjohnhospital:8080/manage> http://stjohnhospital:8080/manage (stjohnhospital is the superuser I installed Zope with) ... but none of them works!!! All that happens is that my browser (MsIE) when I'm offline shows me that the page cannot be found and when I'm online it shows me either "server error" or "page not found". >:-(( NB: It doesn't matter wether I login to my internprovider or not. I'm quite sure it's nonesense to be online in order to login to a local Zope-server, but hey, I've tried everything possible (as far as I know). Hi Andrew, The return address on my e-mails are http://127.0.0.1/klassifieds_Program. I'm pretty sure you can change the way to acquire the IP address to send mail. I'm cc'ing the Zope list to see if others might have some input. adding a product.

I am interested in installing etcUserFolder product into my zope site. I downloaded the etcUserFolder.tar.tgz and extracted the files, but I am not clear what to do after that. Anyone can help me? Thanks
