Any good CLI-based tool to suck my Zope site?

Hi, I'm currently running Zope on my local Windows host, and would like to download the entire site to upload it to a remote FTP server to which I have no admin control (just disk space). I've been using wget for Windows release 1.8.2, but it doesn't work flawlessly: I've tried "wget -m http://localhost:8080/mysite", and "wget -mk -np http://localhost:8080/mysite: after downloading stuff at http://localhost:8080/mysite, wget goes on to download stuff from http://localhost Anybody knows of a good, command-line based offline-browser for Windows? Even better: Is there any way to export part of the directory tree through the ZMI (since the Export function doesn't export the tree to a filesystem)? Thx EvH.

Zope Unsubscriptable object error

Hi, I am having problems with an Unsubscriptable object error in Zope when the returned tuple only contains one element. The error goes away if the tuple has 2 or more elements. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. See details below. Also the proxy setting for the script is set to manager. Are you able to use getUsers() to work from a python script? If you can, then the problem must be with my set-up. Hi, I'm writing a website / application server which will have a lot of python scripts, and I need to have some global variables defined in one place, which can be easily imported into all my scripts. If I were writing standalone python (or external methods) I would just use import to pull them in. But I'd like to access this in the TTW interface, not as anything external. How do _you_ contribute articles to a Zope intranet?

Hi, Since I now have a basic intranet running with Zope, I'm currently creating/editing articles but copy/pasting the HTML code into Namo's WYSIWYG HTML Webeditor, but it's clumsy, and I must remember to add the <dtml-var standard_html_header> and <dtml-var standard_html_footer> in each new articles. Keeping those two tools open and switching back and forth is a drag, and unusable by non-techies. Since Zope lets users work with WebDAV, is there a project for a WYSIWYG tool to replace the ZMI so that users could contribute to a site through a single, dedicated tool? Don't get me wrong, I think the ZMI is usable by people like us, but I'm thinking of tools for non-savy users. Thx EvH.

Plone/CMF

I am new to the Zope arena, but especially new to CMF and Plone. I have built a Plone site and somewhat customized it, but I am having one BIG problem. The site I am building requires users only to be able to see items which they have access to. I.e., User A should has access to folder 1, 2 and 5 (thus should only see 1,2 and 5), while user B has access to 2 and 4 (should only see 2 and 4). Utilizing the Security tab, I have created new roles for my user types and played around with the access priveledges. It looks to me that the way Zope works is to make you show all folder contents ("List Folder Contents") to a user and if they have "View" or some other priveledge, it will allow them to get in...otherwise, a LOGIN pop-up box appears. Of course, in this case, I do not even want them to see files/folders they do not have access to. Is there something I am missing in the Zope setup, or am I going to have to modify the Python scripts in the Plone/CMF pages? If a modification to the pages is in order, can someone help me there? Editing PageTemplates linux

Hello experts, I am using Zope on linux. I have an html file which I added as a PageTemplate through the ZMI. However when I try to edit the file via the ZMI interface I cant, because the contents of the PageTemplate are not visible. Has anybody encountered such a problem. I t works fine when I do the same thing on windows. Regards Yaser

NUXUserGroups Zope security

Hi, To get a list of users for a particular group (using NuxUserGroups) using the following python script group=context.acl_users.getGroupById(groupname) users=group.getUsers() return users I get an error: 'You are not allowed to access getUsers in this context' In order to get the list I created an external method with the following based on stuff from ZopeLABS: def get_list_of_users(self, groupName): acl_users = getattr(self, 'acl_users') groups = acl_users.getGroupById(groupName).__of__(acl_users) usernames = groups.getUsers() return usernames and it works. So to access any methods of objects from a python script or DTML I have to create an external method? Is this right. Would some kind soul explain why this is the case or if I'm doing it incorrectly or I missed something. I have read the security.declareProtected stuff on ZDG and noticed that getUsers has security.declareProtected(ManageUsers, 'getUsers'). The python script above has a proxy role of manager which has permission to 'Manage users'. Many thanks, Sion
