[HELP] Choice of a NT server

Hello, I have a question about wich processor/memory, etc.. i should use in order to run my Zope Site : In fact, i have no idea about the style of server that i should buy in order to run my site properly. My site (a commercial extranet) whill be used by 300 users, and i do think that there will be 80 users concurently (simultaneous). They will just browse the Web pages and sometimes download files (MS Office). I didn't manage to find any information about that. Can someone help me ? I uses Python 2.1, Zope 2.4.4 and CMF. My ZODB size is 200 Mo. Thanks in advance. PS : Excuse my english Frederic.

PoPy Database Connection

Hello All. I finally got my Popy Product working, but now I'm trying to create a database connection, following the instrucions I fill the database connection string following the instruction on screen. user=username host=hostname dbname=dbname port=port password=password I just need the username dbname as the default value shows in the text area shows. Now the problem is that when I try to connect I get the next error Invalid connection string: user=gerardo1 dbname=test Powered by Zope I try every combination with no success, what do you all think the problem could be? thanks in advance Gerardo Amaya

I am writing a script which returns a list of tuples, like so: [('http://www.news.com/frontdoor/0-1.html?tag=hd_ts', 'CNET'), ('http://www.news.com/shopping/0-1257.html?tag=hd_ts', 'Price comparisons')] My question (and it's a dumb one) is: how do I refer to the individual values within the tuples when iterating through the list? Here's what I've got so far: myCount = 0 for elem in p.anchors: for elem in elem: print myCount, ": ", elem[0:] myCount = myCount + 1 Here's what it returns: 0 : http://www.news.com/frontdoor/0-1.html?tag=hd_ts 1 : CNET 2 : http://www.news.com/shopping/0-1257.html?tag=hd_ts 3 : Price comparisons How can I specifically reference the urls/titles separately? Hi David, in answer to the first part of your question; If you run Zope on W2K with the IIS subsystem completely removed, and do your security homework (at least I am finding) W2K to be a very stable platform. If you need a second webserver, either in front or behind, the latest stable Apache works very well. If you do need to move to an alternate server plaform, just export your site as a .zexp file to the /var directory, move it to the new server, and import it from the /import directory. Assuming you have the same products installed and everything configured identically in your Zope, you should have no problems. In answer to the second part of your question, yes, most anything you can do with DHTML, Zope will support. Another perhaps cleaner approach might be: index_html calling: header_html content_html calling content.htm footer_html All, except content.htm is in your site root, and content.htm sits in a folder by itself and can be moved as you envision. Zope as a WinNT Service

Hi Mike. After complelty trashing my default W2K Zope startup service with the Zope Windows controller, I needed to recreate the service, and did not have the resource kit tool to do so. Instead I used a free utilty called FireDaemon, which allows you to easily create an NT service wrapper around most any executable. http://www.firedaemon.com After setting this up, startup options are directly edited in the registry. Hi all, I'm working on a product that renders treemenu's for websites. Now I have to get an initlevel as starting point for my menu. But the function getInitLevel doesn't work in the __init__ method, because acquisition doesn't work here. Hi, I'm proud to announce ZWeather v0.2 (which now works correctly) ZWeather is a Zope Weather applet available under the GNU GPL. Just add a ZWeather instance for each location you want to get the weather, fill in the four letter Metar location code (find one near your location in the file Locations), and that's it. Weather info is cached for 15 minutes, unless you modify the location code.
