I'm using both IssueTracker and BITS, both are nice products. Using Zope 2.5.1, CMF 1.2, win2k I can only create projects by using the parent CMF acl folder. I can give the CMF members the BITS project manager role and it works. If i create a BITS in my root without CMF involved. I have to also give the project manager the "Manager" role in order for projects to show up for that manager. Is this expected behaviour? SOLUTION: How to pass REMOTE_ADDR through Apache

Several months ago I was looking for solution how to pass REMOTE_ADDR inside proxied environment with Apache acting as frontend. Nobody has the solution ready and now I have one. Pretty simple but requires adding 6 lines in def __call__ (...) of VirtualHostMonster.py (you are using VH Monster I hope :) A new solution has come. Visit your ~zope/lib/python/Products/SiteAccess and change VirtualHostMonster.py adding these lines after def __call__(self, client, request, response=None): so it becomes def __call__(self, client, request, response=None): '''Traversing at home''' vh_used = 0 stack = request['TraversalRequestNameStack'] while 1: if stack and stack[-1] == 'VirtualHostBase': vh_used = 1 stack.pop() protocol = stack.pop() host = stack.pop() if ':' in host: host, port = split(host, ':') request.setServerURL(protocol, host, port) else: request.setServerURL(protocol, host) #-------- HERE CODE BEGINS -------- if stack and stack[-1] == "_set_": stack.pop() names = split (stack.pop(), "#") values = split (stack.pop(), "#") for ix in range (len (names)): request.set (names[ix], values[ix]) #--------- HERE CODE ENDS --------- And modify your RewriteRule in Apache virtual host so it looks as: RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://127.0.0.1:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.yourhost.com:80/_set_/REMOTE… [P,L] That's it. couple of newbie questions on implementing zope

Hello - I understand that the development of a site can be done on my Windows workstation, but once it goes live, doesn't the site need to be moved to a real server? So my ISP would need to have Zope installed, yes? Seems obvious but I wanted to check. ;-) I'm creating a simple newsletter site and it seems like Zope would be perfect. As new articles are written, the old ones need to be moved to an archive page. If I understand correctly, this procedure would be easy with Zope. If each article is contained within its own folder, they could be simply dragged from one location to another using the Zope control panel. My question is this, if this simple newsletter page has four positions for articles, how do I control where on the page the articles appear. For example, the main article would be just below the header and next to the left navigation. Can I define a folder for that position using X & Y coordinates (like I would if I was using DHTML), and then simply drop into that folder this week's main story? I hope this makes sense. Product not registering?

Hello, I am trying to create a new python product that builds on a previous product. I am doing the following: install product "Foo" Foo installs correctly. cp -r lib/python/Products/Foo lib/python/Products/Bar cd lib/python/Products/Bar search and replace "Foo", "Bar" rename Foo.py Bar.py, etc restart Zope, no errors Now, the drop-down box for adding objects includes object "Bar", but the installed prducts screen does not list Bar as an installed product, so adding Bar fails. Structured Text's "DocumentWithImages" class

Hi there, I was just looking through the change notes for Zope 2.6.0a, and came across something about "Structured Text's "DocumentWithImages" class" - I searched zope.org, the zope cookbook, and the mailing list archives, and couldn't find any reference to DocumentWithImages - can someone point me to the correct documentation? SQLRelay Problem

Hello All. I use to have the following error: to resolve this I install the SQLRelay library in the zopes /lib/python2.1 directory, Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/Zope/Zope-2.5.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/OFS/Application.py, line 531, in import_product ... ... (Object: localtime) ImportError: No module named SQLRelay Now I can say that the module is ok, but I now I get the following error: 2002-07-18T15:26:19 ERROR(200) Zope Could not import Products.ZSQLRelayDA Traceback (innermost last): ... ... File /usr/local/Zope/Zope-2.5.1-linux2-x86/lib/python2.1/site-packages/SQLRelay/PySQLRDB.py, line 10, in ? (Object: localtime) ImportError: librudiments.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory When I install the rudiments library it install in the /usr/local/firstworks/ directory [root@localhost firstworks]# ls bin doc etc include lib var Just in case I was wrong, I move all the files in the /usr/local/firstworks to /usr/local to see if that was the problem but I get the same error. Can somebody help me where should the rudiment library files should be or is still an error in the module. thanks in advance Gerardo Amaya

Calling an object from a DTML Method

Thanks Jerome/Chris, Adding a new Windows System Variable, and restarting the Zope service, didn't seem to do the trick... But, modifying start.bat to look like this - "E:\Zope\Zope-2.5.1\bin\python.exe" "E:\Zope\Zope-2.5.1\z2.py" -w 80 ZSESSION_TIMEOUT_MINS=180 -D %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 Works great. The entry in z2.py (ZSESSION_TIMEOUT_MINS=180) is not required. Of Containers, Objects and Properties

I have a folder containing multiple DTML Method objects. The folder has some properties. Each DTML method has its own set of properties that are different from those of the folder. Everything is being generated dynamically by Python scripts. When I query the folder for its propertyItems as in: print context.propertyItems called with the folder as the context, I get a list of all the properties in the folder *and* in all of its contained DTML Method objects. Not what I had in mind. Worse, when I call the same script using one of the documents in the folder as the context, I *still* get returned a list of all the properties in the folder and all of its contained DTML methods. Is there some inheritance or traversal going on here? Is this expected behavior? If not, does this behavior indicate I've assigned properties incorrectly or some such thing?
