Disappearing manage_options Tab

I'm trying to create my first Python product in Zope, and I'm running into a strange problem. Basically I have two manage_options tabs (Edit and View). The Edit tab is a simple form to change the title property (I'm starting out very simple). The problem is that the Edit tab disappears after I submit the changes, and then reappears if I go back to folder the object is contained in and select the object again. To eliminate newbie mistakes as the cause of the problem, I uploaded the Addressit Product from the Zope Bible (the earliest version from Chapter 7, again to keep it simple). The problem occurs with that product, too. I'm running Zope 2.5.1 with Python 2.1.3 on Windows 2000 (binary distribution). I also have a Mac (OS X 10.1.5) with the same versions of Zope and Python, and both the Addressit Product and my own product work normally there (the Edit tab doesn't disappear). So I suspect some problem with the Windows binary distribution. Has anyone else seen this problem? Should I try getting a different distribution? Or is it safe for me to ignore the problem? LocalFS and <dtml-tree>

Hi , I have a LocalFS instance that gives access to a folder on my disk. Now I would like to display the contents of any desired folder in the tree style on a page. The code that I have is: <dtml-let tree_root="ex_files_storage[REQUEST.folder]"> <dtml-tree Name=tree_root> <dtml-var getId> </dtml-tree> </dtml-let> This unfortunately does not display anything, just a blank page. I also tried the <dtml-tree> tag to be like this: <dtml-tree Name=tree_root branches="fileValues"> that kind of works in that I only get list of all folders in the "REQUEST.folder" directory without the + signs that allow you to expand and see if the folder has any sub-folders, even if they exist... just a list of ids of folders in the requested folder the reason i tried it the former way first is that LocalFS has the "tpValues" function defined, so I asssumed everything would be great. What am I doing wrong here?? How can I get a tree view of the contents of the folder in LocalFS?? Finally will the dtml-tree view show individual files in the folders or do I have to specify the leaves parameter and write my own stuff to show that?? SmartSection product fail?

Hi, I was try in free time SmartSection. I have installed all needed products for Smart Section: TransparentFolders-0_3_2 OrderedFolder-0_4_0 Formulator-1_2_0 SmartSections-0-3-0 Standard distribution Zope 2.5.1 under Win32 (W95 czech language), /lib/python/Ofs/__init__.py was patched for Transparent Folders. Locale in z2.py has not influence. I receive that error message after I select to add SmartSection. It is not important for me to use SmartSection, I was only try this product. But if this product seems be good, I use it. Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Hi all, Just a heads-up. It seems LocalFS is broken under 2.5.1. Anyone got any clues? *voice from the peanut gallery* "I do" I figured this out before I hit send, so here's the fix. Edit main.dtml in LocalFS and remove all references to AUTHENTICATED_USER. Eg <dtml-in "filtered_meta_types(AUTHENTICATED_USER)" mapping sort=name> Goes to <dtml-in filtered_meta_types mapping sort=name> There's a few other lines in there with AUTHENTICATED_USER in main.dtml, so make sure you get all of them... simple z-class problem

Hi, I'm having intermittent problems with the simplest z-class within a new product, through the ZMI. I'm going through the stages of 1) I create a new product, CalendarEvent. 2) inside Test, I create a z-class, id: CalendarEvent. 3) inside this, I add some property sheet with some properties through the properties tab. 4) finally, I change the default view to propertysheets/Prop/manage from the dropdown list. hi, keep the discussion on the list... maybe others can learn something too... answer to your question: of course you can use layers.
