Hi I am fairly new to Zope (~1week). Is there a way to store page templates on the filesystem? I already know how to accomplish this with DTML, but not with PT. Any help appreciated. problem with NeoBoard and breadcrumbs

Hi, I call the following method in my standard_html_header and it works fine everywhere except in the NeoBoard page: (simple breadcrumbs) <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('rev', [])"> <dtml-in PARENTS skip_unauthorized> <dtml-call "rev.insert(0, _['sequence-item'])"> </dtml-in> <dtml-in rev> <a href="<dtml-var "_['sequence-item'].absolute_url()">" class="nav_link"> <dtml-var title_or_id> </a> <dtml-unless sequence-end>:</dtml-unless> </dtml-in> I get an infinite recursion error when I try to view any NeoBoard page. Does anybody know why this crops up?? I cant figure out what is there in NeoB that might cause this error as it does not happen anywhere else. Also if I comment out the abovementioned code and put in just <dtml-var "_.len(PARENTS)"> the NeoBoard page shows the right number of parents in my case (4). So why do I get a infinite recursion error when there are a finite number of parents?? RFC: ZMI Bookmarks

Just the other day, I hacked up an implementation of transient ZMI bookmarks. It puts an icon next to an object's breadcrumb path that stuffs the path into a session variable, then uses javascript to reload the menu pane. If there are any bookmarks in the session variable, they are listed below the folder tree in the menu pane as links to manage_workspace of that path. So, you click on the little add-a-bookmark icon and a bookmark appears under the folder tree. I showed it to my designer/wife, and she loved it. Then I explained that the bookmarks are kept in a session, so they go *poof* when you restart Zope or your browser. She said "so, make them permanent". Easier said than done, of course. As soon as I started down that path, I got analysis paralysis thinking about bookmark sets, user properties, special bookmark containers, etc, etc. Now, I'm hoping that someone on the list has a clever idea for making these bookmarks persist, in a usefully Zopish way, that doesn't involve dragging in whole other frameworks (i.e. a third-party User Folder implementation). Vitrual Host Monster Problem - More Info

More Information, I posted yesterday about a problem I was having with the Virtual Host Monster. Sometimes when I access the management screen the Mappings tab is not visible. Apparently, you cannot access the "Mappings" tab from a remote computer accross the internet. However, the Mappings tab displays when you are on the server or accessing the management screen from a computer that is on your local network. Is this by design, or are there security settings that I can set to allow me to access the Mappings tab from a remote PC? There are no visible security settings on the VHM. PropertyManager Support

The only thing I can find in the docs about PropertyManager and where it is supported is this somewhat unhelpful sentence. "Certain Zope objects support the ability to maintain a set of arbitrary properties." What are those objects? Where is this documented? How would anyone find this out without asking this list? I can't find anyplace that the Zope docs define which interfaces are supported by which objects, but it's a big ocean out there so maybe I missed a key island. manage_renameObject

Hello, hope someone here can help me, this should be possible, but I cant find the solution. I want to let ppl in one role change the names of files in some catalogs. They also need to change Properties of the files. I am considering giving them control of the Zope manage system on the files, but that should mainly be for advanced users, so I would prefer making the interface myself. I have tried with the python code below, but with no luck. I get an access error. How can I do this and witch security permissions must the role have? I don't fully understand what I(or more accurate, another admin) have tried to do below, so an explanation of that would be great too! Hi, I installed 2.5.1 and tried to combine apache with Zope by using pcgi. I remember that older versions of the Zope Package were started automatically by the pcgi-wrapper on the first HTTP request. My installation works fine, but only when I start the Zope daemon by Hand (that starts the pcgi socket file)... When I do not start Zope by Hand, I get an "(102) failure during connect"-error and the exclamation point... Another strange problem within ZSQL Method

Hi, I use my pc as the development platform for my Zope pilot. Everything works on my PC. Since this is a pilot, I have the main Zope server on an older machine. After coping over the db and exporting/import the programs I notice a strange problem. I wrote basically a search engine. I started to test this new installation. I noticed that I was not able to retrieve a part number using a wild card. I open the zsql method and started to test. If I entered the following I can see part number inofrmation: part_num 54% As I added more of the variable I was limiting the search and it worked. Until I inputed the following 54-070% worked but 54-0700% : The sql statement is as follows: select * from document_control where (part_num like '54-0700%') and (document_type like 'Numbering'); This did not work and does not until I put the whole number 54-0700-0001.
