dtml-in output if no objects are found

I have a dtml-in that pulls in two different types of objects and outputs data from them accordingly. I want to output a message if no objects of this type were found. Is there a direct way to do this? - Alex

FrameSet as index_html

I do not understand the following behavior. Why is this happening and is there a workaround? Let's say I have the following structure: /foo /bar index_html AFrame_html BFrame_html index_html is a frame set that includes two frames, AFrame_html and BFrame_html. If I point my browser to /foo/bar/ everything works fine. However, if I leave off the trailing slash and access /foo/bar the frame set loads but the two frames show site errors. One shows "Cannot locate object at /foo/AFrame_html" and the other shows "Cannot locate object at /foo/BFrame_html." Thanks! Populating temporary folders

I'm using a temporary folder to store data. However, I need it to have a certain set of permission settings instead of the default; and I need it to contain its own 'standard_error_message.' Of course, when you restart Zope, you lose such settings. I notice that the ability to automatically populate temporary folders was removed from the product last November. Will I have to monkey-patch it from the filesystem on each start-up? Why was the automatic population feature removed? Cheers, seb

getting zclass instance

I have a product Course that defines a ZClass Course and several other Zclasses (Student, Submission, Section) etc... A course might be instantiated in a folder or at the root level, and can contain sections which can contain students, which can contain submissions and so on. I want to have a Course method called get_course which returns the Course instance, eg if I call http://server:8080/folder/BioSci101/Section12/BillStudent/TermPaper/some_me… ^ the Course ^ The Section ^ The Student In some_method_py, which is a python script, if the above URL is the context, I would like to be able to get the BioSci101 instance by calling get_course_py, eg folder = context.get_course_py() for section in folder.objectValues('Section'): for student in section.objectValues('Student') How can I get my hands on the Course instance? I might imagine traversing the parents, testing for isinstance of Course, or something to that effect, but I suspect there is a more direct way. And I do not know what the python equivalent of the PARENTS list is, or if I can use isinstance in python scripts. Thanks, John Hunter

Arggghhhh.... finally resolved the problems I was having with Photo. Thanks to all who helped. As one might expect, it was not a problem with Photo It was a problem with the redirect back to the original form! As a result, I redircted back to the form action with an empty REQUEST. Of course things failed. Mea Culpa!

How can the line after it be successful if this is the case? On first reading your response, I thought there was a difference between the code generating the error response and the code I posted. Just to be sure, I reran the test case and, yes, you are right. The exception identifies the line just before the manage_addPhoto call. BUT, by the time the execption is raised Photo has already successfully added the photograph. I am at a loss to explain the fault. The passed in REQUEST looks fine if I replace manage_addPhoto with a script the dumps REQUEST to the screen. The 'the_file' variable is a FileUpload object as I would expect. Whatever is going on, it's very repeatable on my system. Thanks for your help.

POSKeyError on zexp import

I am getting errors like this on import 2002-07-15T21:40:39 ERROR(200) ZODB Couldn't load state for '\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00I\x97\x93' Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/lib/zope/lib/python/ZODB/Connection.py, line 447, in setstate File /usr/lib/zope/lib/python/ZODB/FileStorage.py, line 582, in load (Object: /var/lib/zope/var/Data.fs) File /usr/lib/zope/lib/python/ZODB/FileStorage.py, line 557, in _load (Object: /var/lib/zope/var/Data.fs) POSKeyError: 0000000000499793 I have tried to look at that object directly using >>> import Zope >>> app = Zope.app() >>> ob = app._p_jar['\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00I\x97\x93'] However that object does not exist in the db since zope aborts the import. Hence you can see my problem. How can I open up a zexp file and see what is in it to find out what objects are causing the problem to figure out what is going wrong.
