ISSUE with ZEO + Squid please help!!

Hi, I have a problem with squid and ZEO. I was using in one machine a squid and Zope, but the site was comming slow, so i decide to move to a three computers architecture and a load balancer. I have one data storage and two Zeo Clients. In both zeo clients I put squid, both of them pointing to local machine in accelerated mode (non-real IP). Both machines non-real ip addreses and an real IP pointing to them via NAT. My load balancer point to both zeo clients through the internal IP. I saw with a day with no load the site works good , but in days with much load the site start to work strange, it begans to slow his replies dramatically. I saw my zeo clients and apparently everything works fine, I saw also the CPUS load, and zope do not use much cpu (56%) and squids neither. Im desperate, i dont know what to do im new in squid connecting to ZEO, i saw the how-tos that are in Zope.org buth the one who use squid with zope is wit a configuration wit virtual host and DTML, im not using virtual host and im using ZPT's I configured my squid in the following way: acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 http_access allow all http_port 80 httpd_accel_port 8080 httpd_accel_host localhost httpd_accel_single_host on httpd_accel_with_proxy on memory_pools off ie_refresh off the rest its the default stuff. Also i put siteRoot in my zope pointing to my load balancer (eg.base http://mydomain.com) to force zope to pass first through squid. Because if i took off this my squids, sent back a reply to my users like this http://localhost:8080/myzpt.html Im using Zope 2.5.1, squid 2.4 and Zeo 1.0 My Zeo clients has 730 Mb RAM Hope somebody can help me tavo

Heeeeeeeeeeeeelp (login problem)

Hi Zope-wizards, As you can see in my subject: I'm getting quite frustrated by some stupid error when I'm trying to login to my Zope server. (Yep, I'm a newbie...) SITUATION I'm going to create a website to gather funds for a hospital in Ghana (St. John of God Hospital in Duayaw Nkwanta). To get an idea about the situation: http://www.zwo.nhl.nl/hbov/buitenlandstage/ghana.html (Dutch & English). WEBSITE I want to do this with Zope & Python. I want people to be able to do online donations, retrieve information about the project, maybe send a mailinglist to keep them up to date and there are many more plans. So: I've got a lot to learn... LEARN & DEVELOP @ WORK & @ HOME In order to learn as quickly as possible I tried to install Zope at work and at home (of course during my break ;-) ). At work (Win2000 Prof.), everything functions OK. I've done the tutorial and I'm now working myself through the ZopeBook. So far so good, but... MY PROBLEM At home I've installed Zope (2.5.1) on my computer (Win98). No errors occured during installation. So, just like at work I tried to login to Zope for the first time, but... When I start the START.BAT, my computer starts a dial-in to my internetprovider! It seems this occurs when START.BAT is trying to retrieve my hostname. When START.BAT is finished, I've tried to type in... * http://127.0.0.1:8080/manage (START.BAT comes up with 127.0.0.1 as localhost and 8080 as port) * http://popeye:8080/manage or http://popeye:8021/manage (popeye is the computername in my Win98 network-settings and START.BAT comes up with popeye as localhost for port 8021) * http://localhost:8080/manage (should always work, right? Not!) * http://stjohnhospital:8080/manage (stjohnhospital is the superuser I installed Zope with) ... but none of them works!!! All that happens is that my browser (MsIE) when I'm OFFLINE shows me that the page cannot be found and when I'm ONLINE it shows me either "server error" or "page not found". >:-(( NB: It doesn't matter wether I login to my internprovider or not. I'm quite sure it's nonesense to be online in order to login to a local Zope-server, but hey, I've tried everything possible (as far as I know). I also tried to un- and reinstall Zope, but that didn't work either. :-( So please, help me out here!!! (In a short while I've got some days off and I want to do some work for the website at home.) Changing the port Zope runs on (Zope Service)

Hi *, How can I change the port Zope runs on when Zope is running as a WinNT Service? After adding the -w80 switch to start.bat and restarting the Zope Service, Zope is still publishing on port 8080? Am I missing something here? Regards, Michael

Hi, Sorry, I solved the problem, the db had empty fields (nulls) and it does like that. Once I put in something I could see it. Zope+Apache - probably trivial problem + one tip :)

Hi, I've installed Zope and Apache following the instruction I found. Rewrite line looks like this: RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/localhost:80/VirtualHostRoot/$1 Everything works just fine, except for one little thing. How to get rid of browser address looking like : http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/localhost:80/VirtualHostRoot/ And request for a tip: How to make it working with SSL tunnelling? ZSQL Method problem

Custom sorting

I want to make users who upload some files, arange the order of the files themselves. I plan on doing this by adding a property to each file named 'sortorder'(int). And then order on this property. I think this is a bad solution, since it means when a user wants to insert a file as #2, I have to update all the other files who has sortorder>=2.
