Zope object Property name

I'm a new at this so please bear with me... I'm using a dtml-in tag to iterate through a list returned by objectValues. I want to look at each item and determine if it is a folder or a dtml-file and execute a certain action based on that information. Only problem is, I don't know what property holds that info and I've looked all over. Can anybody help? Sorry if this is a dumb question but this is driving me nuts. CMF Install on Windows

I am trying to install CMF on Windows. I copied the three folders, to the lib/python/products directory, however CMF_Core and CMF_default both show up on the control panel as broken products. Question regarding exposing Zope on port 80

Good morning: I'm a Zope Newbie, and have read most of The Zope Book. The functionality of this application is incredible, and it looks promising for what I want to do; however, I'm having some issues figuring one small thing out. Once I create the application framework, I don't want to have to tell my users to append ":8080" to the end of the web address that they'll be coming in to. Is there a redirector that I'm missing? Or is there a switch that makes Zope's webserver listen on 8080? I know I'm probably just missing something in the documentation; however, if someone could help me out, I'd be extremely grateful. Zope Book 2.6 edition progress

Hi, I have placed a development version of a new Zope Book edition (covering Zope 2.6) up for perusal at http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Books/ZopeBook/2_6Edition . It is not yet finished, but it's getting there. 10 new chapters have been added, and many others have been rewritten. The way you can tell if a chapter has been rewritten is that it will typically have no inline comments, because they've all been addressed in the body of the chapter. Chapters *with* comments are typically the ones that have not yet been rewritten or otherwise meaningfully changed. You may not use inline commenting on this version of the book as you can with the "current" Zope book online version as don't want to gather inline comments just yet. However, if you notice something really desperately wrong (NOT spelling, NOT chapter numbering, NOT figure numbering, NOT grammar, NOT license or "hair splitting" terminology nits) in the content of the document, feel free to let me know via email. Sending HTML emails with images

Hello, I'm asked to make a spam product :-( This gets data from some people, makes it into an HTML page and then emails it. Now, if the HTML page has to have images too, one way I can think of is by putting absolute URLs to the images. But, that will not work if the email is read outside the internal network. Quoting quotes

I have a little dtml and python and I'd like to call the python with a string containing a double quote: <dtml-var expr="pything('she said "Yes."')"> Obviously, this doesn't work. Not so obviously, these don't work either. <dtml-var expr="pything('''She said "Yes."''')"> <dtml-var expr="pything('She said \"Yes.\"')"> The only solution I've found is the icky: <dtml-var expr="pything('She said \x22Yes.\x22')"> or <dtml-var expr="pything('She said \042Yes.\042')"> Is that the only way? Does dtml lack any kind of escape sequence? I can understand why there wouldn't be one but I'd like to be sure before I go

this is a very specific question about the ExtFile product. i started a project with the ExtFile FLAT-configuration. now i need to work with the same files on the same zope-instance with the HIERARCHICAL-configuration ... any ideas how to update my old files ? thanks a lot .urs --

Undo log

Is there any way to log specific messages, or customize the message a transaction leaves in the undo log? I have a method that does a both updates and deletes an object. I'd like to be able to show in the undo log which event was executed. For example: current undo log: /path/document_edit by mark 2002-08-13 11:29:41 AM /path/document_edit by mark 2002-08-13 11:29:27 AM want it to show something like: /path/document_edit deleted by mark 2002-08-13 11:29:41 AM /path/document_edit updated by mark 2002-08-13 11:29:27 AM Thanks, Mark

Problems with list of object references

Hello everybody, I have a problem with a list of object references. I wrote a product that buffers a list of objects. The list is created with self.LIST = self.restrictedTraverse(ListOfPaths).objectValues['MyOtherProduct'])) inside a function called "charge_buffer". This product also has a DTMLFile named "show_list". "show_list" contains: <dtml-var LIST> When I open "show_list" in my browser I can see the list like this: [<MyOtherProduct instance at ecdcfa8>, <MyOtherProduct instance at ecdd050>, etc. ] (This seems to be a list of addresses) As a result I can use "LIST" in an in-tag in another DTMLFile called "use_list": <dtml-in LIST> <dtml-var id><br> </dtml-in> This seems to work very well. When I open "use_list" in my browser I see a list of ids. But when I reload "use_list" 3 or 4 times I suddenly get an attribute error for "get", just as if the sequence-item wasn't an object anymore. The same thing happens when I refresh my product or restart the server. (BTW. my product inherits from Persistant, and I set _p_changed=1 after charging the buffer) So I repeatedly called "charge_buffer" and looked at "show_list" and "use_list". "use_list" always showed me the same list of id's, as I expectet, but "show_list" always showed me a different list where the adresses where always different. It seems that the "addresses" of my object instances change a view seconds after loading my buffer. As a result I am unable to save a list of object references for later use.
