dtml-let + dtml-in question

1. I'm using DTML to declare some new names in the namespace and do simple math, thus: <dtml-let subtotal_hotel_rate1="_.float(hotel_rate1) * _.int (hotel_rate1_days)"> 2. I want to display these subtotals if, say, "hotel_rate1" has a non-null value. No problem there (at least not any more thanks to Alexis and Ted!). 3. However, I then want to sum only the subtotals that get to be displayed. What's the best way of doing this? I'm stuck because to display the subtotals, I've had to close out the dtml-let tags that enabled them to be displayed in the first place. Furthermore, I can't make the calculation of the total conditional on there being just one non-null value. This would not do, for ex: <dtml-if hotel_rate1> [calculate some total] </dtml-if> because there might be a non-null value for hotel_rate2 (there are 5 hotel rates total), which has to be accounted for. I have to calculate all the subtotals and include them in the mix for the total calculation. I've thought about looping in the value of *any* namespace variable that begins with the string "subtotal_". I'd have to convert those strings to floating-point integers before doing the math. That approach sounds reasonable to me, but I don't know how construct the dtml-in syntax in this case. Any pointers/redirections/examples are greatly appreciated. Chris, Thanks for the link. This is typical of many of the issues that I have with Zope. I don't always know where to go for the current documentation on things. The link you gave helps, but something strange is going on. I created a VHM and it only had one tab?!? I even deleted that instance and created another instance to make sure that I hadn't done something wrong when I created it. Still just one tab?!? I read about this Mapping tab but I thought that perhaps the documentation was a bit old. This theory was given more credibility by the explanatory text given in the VHM instance which seemed to be saying "All you need is this and this funky URL". I don't have access to the machine right now, but I'll take all this under advisement as I attempt this once more. Hopefully now that I know the definitive way of doing this I can dig a little deeper to figure out what is going on with my setup. Thanks to everyone for the help. It looks like VHM is the way to go. dtml-if question - please help!

Do I understand this correctly?

I've been trying to understand how to setup virtual hosting and I have a few simple questions... 1) After reading the VHM documentation (that you can access when you create an instance of a VHM) that the VHM mechanism relies on something upstream (e.g. Apache) rewriting the URL to include this structure that VHM talks about? More to the point, is it correct to say that VHM is worthless without such a priori URL manipulation? 2) It seems like access rules are sufficient for what I want to do (host different sites from a single Zope server, each with their own directories). However, when I tried to use the simple example from Zope.org at http://zope.org/Members/4am/SiteAccess2/vhosting, I couldn't get even the simple DTML Method code in Example 2 to work. help installing, starting zope on debian

Hello, I am attempting to start zope 2.6.2-2 with zope-cmf 1.3.2-1 zopectl 0.2.6 and get connection refused at http://localhost:9673 I have just done a complete remove of all previous zopes and their config files, and installed this fresh. email archives I find about recent versions of zope suggest the config files have changed, and mention changing permissions, and yet the debian change notes also talk of fixes related to this already being in zope 2.6.2-2. Formulator - TALES problem

Hello, I tried to set the End Datetime for an datetime Formulator object to the current time. I uses TALES and started with python: form.DateTime() This failed with Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: DateTime Now I created a Python script named 'jetzt' which just does return DateTime() and alternatively I tried return str(DateTime()) moreover I tried several different formats. Weird problem with permissions

Hello, I've just discovered a strange thing with my (test-)site. I don't know if it was from the beginning, or if I changed something. I'm using CookieCrumbler for authentication. I'm not logged in (Anonymous User). I've a page template with a form. The action attribute of the form refers to python-script-object. But if I submit the script I'm redirected to the login-page (the page set in cookie-crumber). Obviously a anon user doesn't have permissions to execute the script. All permissions are set to acquire, in the objects and in the upper folders. Is this normal? Which permissions do I have to set? The same behavior I've with a page template which just calls a SQL-method and displays (tal:repeat) the results. I've changed no security permissions. Everything works when I'm logged in with a user. Hi all I intend to do development on 2.7.0-2b for trying out. There was just one problem I faced with upgrade. I had to rewrite this portion to make it work ------------------------ Incorrect login or password ------------------------ to ------------------------ Incorrect login or password ------------------------ !!!!!!!
