Thanks once again for the help and advice. I don't think I've got the knowledge I'd need yet to use ZTUtils for the tree - especially since all of the examples seem to be based around trees showing folder structure, not SQL queries etc. I'll look at other options I think. Turbo Intranet -- what is it?

My employer approached me regarding implementing Zope Turbo Intranet at the office. He gave me some information regarding the training session (http://www.zope.com/Training/TurboIntranetTraining) but I haven't been able to find any solid information on what exactly "Turbo Intranet" is. What is it? Is "Turbo Intranet" a product in and of itself? Is it a collection of products that can be installed separately? Some of the bullets on the flyer suggest that it includes the CMF, Casey's ExternalEditor product and Jens' LDAPUserFolder product. does zope do passive ftp? - was emacs and ange-ftp

serving up a file without making a zope object out of it

I have an excel file on my pc that gets updated every five minutes. I would like to make a link to it from within zope. Currently, I can add a file which can be served up from zope, but it becomes a static object after it is uploaded, and so it is not the copy which updates every five minutes. I can do this simply in apache by putting the file in the htdocs file and creating a simple link to it. solution to Unauthorized: cannot access ... in this context

I've seen alot of posts with people having the following error: Error Type: Undefined Error Value: You are not allowed to access <something> in this context ___ It kept making my user anonymous, logging me out, and not performing the action. It began to happen to me in several cases, so I got tough and downloaded Verbose Security at http://hathaway.freezope.org/Software/VerboseSecurity, (thanks, Hathaways) which told me that Anonymous didn't have View priveleges... Why was it running as Anonymous, I thought? So, I went to the root folder of the website I was having the problems in, and TOOK OWNERSHIP with a manager/owner user. My feeling was that somehow these files had lost ownership. Apparently I was right. So, the SOLUTION: Take ownership of the problem folders or files (with the folders you can recursively take ownership of all files within it. Helpful? It was to me. Access based on a table of users

I have a table of users from a database and I would like to have login based on it. Concretely, I have a form to edit record(s) in a (second) table of whatever data which is the responsability of a user(s). When a user presses an Edit button, I would like to ask him for a login/password to access the record. I can manually implement this check but may be it could be based on zope security? The login/password should be stored in the table of users. How can I "link" this table with acl_users without manually maintaining the "link"? Thanks, Fernando

CVS and Zope

I am looking at various CVS like products. I have looked at MS Source Safe, will look at PVCS and am looking at CVS. At this time I have found a CVS server CVSNT (the company is full of MS). Also a client TortoiseCVS that works in MS file manager. However there is a product called viewCVS and it's written in python. That is always a good sign. To the question Is there at Zope Product to browse details in the CVS repository? I don't have the skills to convert viewsCVS to a Zope product and I am not sure it will work in win32. Thank for any pointers.

zope repeated crash

my zope server is repeatedly crashing when I access various objects. One object is a python script that worked after I created it. Another object is a folder object containing stx docs. There's nothing unusual about the folder. I can access it via the managment interface, but it will cause zope to restart if I just browse the folder object. I thought I had some corruption in the zodb file, so I compacted it - thinking that if there were problems in it then that would show them. But, it compacted without error.. Attached is the zope debug log parsed by the untility on zope.org. Z2.log error

Hi All, I found that AwStats can't be used with my current Z2.log because of an extra space in the log file 127.0.0.1 - Anonymous [27/Feb/2003:09:30:04 +0200] ^^ (2 spaced instead of 1) Does anyone know where to find the code to patch my Zope Greetings Ralph
