Accessing a user's password

Is there any way to access a user's password given the name of the user? Also, once you access the password, how would you decrypt it(I would like to email the password to a user who has forgotten his)? Any help would be appreciated. PCGI?

I'm wondering how PCGI should be supported in Zope moving forward. We currently have: - A PCGI server in ZServer - A pcgi directory that contains: o A cgi program that is very thin and whos only job is to forward requests to an app server running pcgi o An unused PCGI "publisher", which would be used by a Python application server that wasn't running ZServer. o A debugging tool named MrCreosote. I don't know if anyone is using this. I'd like to continue supporting PCGI in ZServer as long as it is used. I'd like to omit the pcgi directory fron the Zope distribution and make it a separate distribution. Would anyone object to these changes for Zope 2.7? HELP! SiteRoot problem, unable to undo

I was trying to set-up a siteroot, but I mis-typed the address. Now I can't get into the management console to undo the change! Or anything else for that matter. All of the links are giving me a "Site Error" message. How can I undo the damage? TIA. Samir.

I have a related problem. The Zope service would hang (I would get the "Starting..." message but nothing more) and then one fine day I find the service isn't listed anymore in my list of services. Any way I can fix this? I'm a user, not much of a programmer. TIA. referencing images in products

I have a product which needs to reference some icons which are part of the product. Following the usual structure, the icons are www sub-directory of the product. The dtml that wants to reference the image is in the dtml sub-directory. What's the reference mechanism? <img src="../www/image.png"> in the dtml code does not resolve to the image. Nor doe the equivalent <dtml-var ...> formulation. What should the reference be?

Passing Z-SQL Method Result to Pythin Script

3:52 PM 2/14/2003 I stored articles data in MySQL. The fields of articles tables are: title, content, and their date of submitted. Suppose I want to show only some of the content of the articles (about only 50 words shown), how do I do it in Zope? I thought I could use Z-SQL Method to get the full content from MySQL then processed Z-SQL result with python script. But I failed. dtml-tree inside html table

Hello, Well, I've got a very specific question, I'd like to use a dtml-tree inside a table for using it like a menu. The problem is when I expand the tree created whatever is on top of the page disappears and the table gets on top of the screen (I have to scroll to see the top of the page). I'd like to know if anyone knows how to make it work as expected. Help w/ manage_delObjects

I'm trying to delete an object but am encountering an error: My form is simple: form action="delete" input type="submit" value="delete" input type=" hidden" value="outputs id here" name="del_object" /form delete is a python script that looks like this: request = container.REQUEST RESPONSE = request.RESPONSE context.manage_delObjects(request.del_object) RESPONSE.redirect(request['HTTP_REFERER']) This is supposed to delete the object passed from the form being "del_object" My Error: Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: filetobedeleted_id.html does not exist However the file does exist - so I'm not for sure why this isn't deleting?

Getting an authenticated user out of context

I also just posted this to the ExUserFolder list, but I realise it's not necessarily specific to that. *** Bit of a newbie here, so my statements may be in error... Here's an outline of my site: Root Folder acl_users ... subfolder acl_users (exUserFolder) ... protected, lower stuff If a browser navigates to the root of my site, they are anonymous (with respect to the top level acl_users). If they login via a subfolder (having its own acl_users), they are authenticated in that subfolder and lower, etc. However, if they navigate back to the root, they are again anonymous (in that context), but returning to the subfolder, they are still authenticated. Q.1) Is it possible for pages at the root level to obtain the user info with respect to the subfolder's acl_users rather than that of the root's? I realise you can call methods on acl_users like this: <span tal:replace="python:root.acl_users.getUserNames()"></span> <span tal:replace="python:root.subfolder.acl_users.getUserNames()"></span> But, how do you discriminate between the 'authenticated user's that you're interested in? In other words, is there a way of getting a contextualised 'user' object? I can only think of calling a script that's located in 'subfolder', but I'm not sure that'd work... Q.2) Is the '__ac' cookie stored with respect to the path of the subfolder? Or when I need to log the 'subfolder' user out should the path in the following still be '/' or should it be '/subfolder/' ? <div tal:define="dummy python:request['RESPONSE'].expireCookie('__ac',path='/')" /> OR <div tal:define="dummy python:request['RESPONSE'].expireCookie('__ac',path='/subfolder/')" /> ta for help :)
