Fun with FSRECOVER

I caught wind of fscheck and fsrecover via a discussion on this list. A test run on a backup of the data.fs file gave some interesting results. The interesting parts of the output are included below. So, can someone tell me what this all means, and what I should do with it? Would swapping in the "recovered" data.fs result in data loss? I'm not really sure what fsrecover does, although I've seen it implied that its a good thing. Any advice or resources on the subject of proper data.fs handling and care would be wonderful. presenting partial page

I have an application that asks users to fill in a form. Users fill in and submit the form which it takes a few minutes to be processed. While is being processed the users still see the form and not the uncompleted page that displays the results. I would like to be able to present to the users a message like "This action will take a few minutes to be completed --Please wait" What is the best way of accomplishing that? TIA Hara

Time module in python scripts

I'm trying to do Import time Time=time.time() in a Python Script, but I'm getting login prompts and "Error Value: You are not allowed to access time in this context" messages. Is the time module one that's restricted in Python Script? Chris

Thanks for the help. I've tried that one before. It seemed to work fine until I actually tried to view the PDF (ie add the /html2pdf extension). The page that appears is blank (at least on my machine .. no source code at all - but no "Page Not Found" error either). I looked at the manual, and only the version that you pay for seems to have the functionality that we need. Since we want to try it out before even thinking about paying for a product, that one isn't really an option. Besides, from what I've been told it doesn't allow for page breaks, etc in the way that we'd like. Thank you once again for your help. bobobase_modification_time stuck after system date change (back 1 month)

Hi, I installed a brand new Zope on a server (redhat) on which the system date was 1 month ahead (2003 March 3 for today). The system admin just corrected the system date/time today, but when creating a new object after this, its bobobase_modification_time() is still shifted 1 month ahead, when DateTime() shows the (corrected) system date !!! Even after a Zope restart. Why does this happend ? How can I fix this ? Many thanks in advance for any hint ! --Gilles

disutils win32 2.6.1b2 setup.py layout questions

I want to create a Zope 2.6.1b2 instance running on Python 2.2.2, and one amenable to building C extensions found in various add-on products. I downloaded the source tarball and was impressed by how well it compiled using distutils (I have VS.NET on this machine, so cl.exe is readily available). Can I solicit some advice on layout parameters to the setup.py script? I don't fully know what the three parameters imply yet, and my first attempt piled a ton of files in the root of the source dir: C:\Program Files\Python\ (Python 2.2.2, default python win32_all and other add-ons installed) C:\Program Files\Zope261b2>python setup.py install --home=C:\Progra~1\Zope261b2 --install-platlib=C:\Progra~1\Zope261b2 --install-purelib=C:\Progra~1\Zope261b2 What I'm seeking is a Zope laid out with similarity as appropriate to the win32 binary distribution, except using the python in C:\Progra~1\Python\ for all non-zope libraries. After the build is done, I'll get to work on setting up a ZEO2 local server, local client setup that uses the resultant layout for instance_home and software_home, another topic I'll need some tips on.
