Have you tried modifying your PYTHONPATH environment variable? export PYTHONPATH=$PYTHONPATH:/usr/local/Zope-2.6.1-linux2-x86/lib/python ...and if this doesn't work, check file permissions for the modules? Installing Zope

Hi all I am trying to install Zope on Mandrake 9.0.I am tryiong to follow the step by step procedure.When I try to configure psycopg I get the follwing error : checking PostgreSQL version... configure: error: missing PostgreSQL headers Could someone please point me in the right direction here. I work for an ISP and I'm thinking to support Zope hosting... Is there a HOWTO for setting up Zope for use in this enviroment. The main issues here are security, storage quotas and posibly limiting other resource usage (cpu..). -- Damjan Georgievski

cloning from a zclass

I am trying to copy(clone) a DTML-method from a zclass into an instance of the same class. That is to say i have a Product A, with a zclass B. And in this zclass B a dmtl-method C resides. In a subfolder in an instance of this zclass D, I want to copy(clone) the dtml-method C. So, in a dtml-method inside the instance D, I have the following code: context.subfolderName.manage_clone(container.foo,'foo.html') But all I get is: The action against the foo object could not be carried out. One of the following constraints caused the problem: The object does not support this operation. -- OR -- The currently logged-in user does not have the Copy or Move permission respective to the object. I am sure the user has the permission to do this, but I am unsure if some of the involved parties (methods that is) need some kind of special permission. Or if this is just impossible? Adding Key-values to REQUEST.form

Again, can't seem to find how to do this, and been at it for far too long... REQUEST.set(key,value) will set a value in REQUEST.other. Is it possible to do the same for REQUEST.form? I'd like to pass the username and additional object properties to a form as default values when a user clicks on a link. Thanks. Regards, Samir

Session data in URL *or* in cookie

Hello! As I found how Zope's sessions work, I'd like to write script which would handle this: 1. If user comes to the website and he has cookies DISABLED, he will have the session data stored in URLs, as I have set up in "browser_id_manager" object checking the "Automatically Encode Zope-Generated URLs With A Browser Id" option - so his URL www.mysite.com/mypage will be encoded to http://www.mysite.com/_ZopeId/38936190A0sgFZ2i4l0/mypage for example. 2. BUT (and here comes the point) - if user browses the web and he has cookies ENABLED, he will browse with *classic* URLs without encoded session data, so for example www.mysite.com/mypage (he doesn't need to have session data in URLs, because they will be read from cookies). So the question is - is there a way how system could detect if user has or hasn't cookies and would encode Zope-Generated URLs *only* if user has cookies disabled? Or does some session tracking product for Zope exist which does it handle this way? Thank you for answer, Lubos.

Problem with Apache+Zope

I'm having a problem getting to the "manage" page of the zope server. My configuration is as follows. <VirtualHost *> ServerName zope.xyz.com ServerAdmin webmaster(a)clave.info RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://localhost:8080/$1 [L,P] #ProxyPass / http://localhost:8080/ #ProxyPassReverse / http://localhost:8080/ ProxyVia on </VirtualHost> Everytime a request for zope.xyz.com comes in it get's the main page but any attempt to go to zope.xyz.com/manage/ results in errors from the client machine about not being able to connect to "localhost:8080" It's set up this way because this machine is only accessible through port 80 So the idea is just to have Apache act as a gateway to the zope site(s) running locally on 8080. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
