It is a progress DB. But if my ODBC conexion works with access and VBasic it must be ok, isn't it? Zope running only when started with -D from command line

Hi, I have a Win2K (test-) server running two instances of Zope, using different installations and the ports 8080 and 6080. Both were installed to run as Windows services. However, the 6080 version (Zope 2.6.1 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.3, win32) refuses to run unless called from command line (it has worked once upon a time, I think, but I can't tell what changed to disturb this). When the service is started, the pid file is in use, but no content is served. To Windows it looks like everything would be ok (the icons for stopping and restarting the service are active). When I stop the service and start Zope from command line, everything is ok. I even tried to set Z_DEBUG_MODE for the the system to 'yes', but restarting the service still didn't work (well, the system didn't reboot since then... anyway the environment variables seem to be user specific, so they won't work without a logon). There are no error messages whatsoever visible during Zope start. Where can I seek for the problem? Any ideas? tia, Tobias http://www.apriori.de

Authentication using ex User Folder problems

Hi, I'm new to Zope. I built a web site using Zope. Now I'ld like to use authentication to access those pages. I used ex User Folder to create authentication module. I did in this way: I selected "MySQL Authentication Source" for Authentication Sorce, "MySQL Properties Source" for Property Source and "Null Membership Source" for Membership Source. I've created MySQL databases called passwd and userinfo. Here I did not getting any problems. I only getting problem when I visited the home page of the created web site. It is not asking for the authentication instead It is logging in as "Anonymous User". If I use the Login page URL It is redirecting to the Home page after succesful authentication. It has to redirect to the Login page if the user is already logged in. How can I do that? Please suggest me. Thanks in advance. OK- I'll guess your DSN isn't formatted right. Remember that the DSN string gets passed to the server as-is and is processed there. I have a DB in a Unix server and my Zope server in a W2000. I try to connect them. I have created the ODBC connection in my W2000 server with my DB and it works with access and so on. But I can't use it in the Zope server. Hello all, I'm new in the list. I am trying to connect Zope with an ODBC connection with my W2000. The windows Connection works, but not in Zope. We don't use users to connect, only logins. Is that the problem? How can I solve it? Thanks. Luis.

possible ways to define roles permissions?

Hi all,need your advise. my application requires a few custom roles, one of which tends to have all the default Zope permissions, except for View managemen Screens. Is there any way to do it, other than creating a long list as a parameter passed to manage_role api call? thanks for your help

How to prevent access to Ananymous User?

Hi, I'ld like to build a web site with Authentication. I'm using "ex User Folder" to create authentication. I'm using MySQL and Cookie based authentication. When I access the page It still logging in as "Anonymous User",(I think it should redirect to the login page). If I go to the login page manually and logging in with username and password it's working fine. Please suggest me how to prevent "Anonymous User" from viewing the pages.
