Hi; I have a client that wants to do business with an ISP other than myself. He's looking for a well-established firm. One that has a secretary answer the phone would be a good start. I think we're using Zope-2.6.1 and I know my programmer had an issue with a newer version not being compatible with our shopping cart, so installation of a different Zope version than what you're currently using may be a necessity. The client mentioned needing lots of storage space for a CRM app and databases, as well as many email addresses, none of which I consider currently to be a difficulty. Will have more info later. [Epoz] Which version have I to use ?

Hi folks, I tried to integrate epoz in my Zope2 developments, but : 1) I don't understand which version to choose (Epoz 0.7.x or epoz 1.x ?). 2) After the install of epoz 1.0.1 and FileSystemSite 1.3, I can't create the 'epoz editor' (it doesn't appear in the addable object list). I am in trouble. I need some help !

Zopehome in ZPT

Dear Zopistas How can I display the installation path of Zope in a ZPT page. Experience with Adaptable Persistance

Hi everyone, we are playing around with Ape and DBTab. It seems really a nice product, and we would like to migrate our application to it. Our main concern is scalability. As far as we see, it seems that it can easily generate tables with lot of entries. We will have to put easily 100.000 objects in it, so we could come up with tables with more than 1.000.000 entries. Has someone tried with a similar setup ? Which are the performance using a SQL storage using a large number of objects ? Thank you and happy new year. Zope & Zeus Authing Problem

Well, after spending the last 3 days on this problem I think I've finally narrowed it down. It seems that since you have to run Zope using FastCGI with Zeus that Zeus is indeed taking over the authentication portion. I got SimpleUserFolder working perfectly from within the ZMI (testing the ZSQL Method and Python Script against the PGSQL DB) but when I try and access the page from the web it prompts me for a username and password (which it's supposed to do). Unfortunately what is happening is it's not Zope that's prompting me. It's Zeus. Not only that but since I modified the permissions in zope so that anonymous users don't have access, only authenticated users and their appropriate roles do, Zope is also trying to authenticate. Both are failing miserably. Is anyone on this list using Zeus and Zope together? Is there a way to make this work? I have several sites that I need to password protect certain portions of and all the user account information is stored in our PostgreSQL DB. I really need some help here. kittonian

I remember having the same problem a while back. If I remember correctly, my problem was caused by a text file that was accessed by the movie. I put the file in the same folder as the movie, but flash was searching from the html base. Serving Zope using HTTPS through Apache

Serving Zope and non-Zope Content

I have researched the Web pretty extensively on this question and think I know how to proceed. Thought I would check with the mailing list to see if anyone has any other suggestions. I have a replacement site developed in Zope (www.foo.com) A portion of the site being replaced will need to continue to be used (www.foo.com/bar) - on a different, non-local server running behind Apache. The HTML pages and content of this site contain numerous literal URL references to internal pages / content (e.g. www.foo.com/bar/candy) Based on what I have found thus far, it sounds like the best approach would be to use Apache ProxyPass to send every URL beginning with /bar to the remote server and everything else to Zope. Should this work? What potential problems should I be looking out for? Are there other approaches that may work more effectively? BTW - this is a temporary situation as the '/bar' site will be replaced with a new Plone/Zope site in the near future. Thanks, Bill Etheredge

Zope is VERY case sensitive. Make sure you double check that filename.
