Change form data in request

Hi all. I know that the request object stores all the informations about the current request, i.e. cookies, server data, form data and input headers. So, i get request using this syntax: r = context.request And using .set it is possible to change values of variables stored in request. Now the question: why r.set( 'name', 'newvalue' ) # changes a variable in 'option' section of request works, and r.set( r.form[ 'variable_in_form' ], 'newvalue' ) does not? I need to modify a variable stored in 'form'! Any hints? Thanks Paolo Dina P.S. manage_addObjects?

Hi all, I regularly need to add and delete bunches of objects, but I need to have a look at them before going ahead. Deleting is no problem: I put them into a form with checkboxes and send them to a method containing <dtml-call "manage_delObjects(REQUEST['ids'])">. To add, the best I have come up with is to put my values into a long page of add_forms and hit 'submit' for each one. This is boring. Adding these objects programatically is not an option, as I need to correct minor errors and eliminate some records. There is no single data file on which to perform these corrections in advance, as the values are assembled dynamically. Is there something like 'manage_addObjects? Best, Ken

page template, acquistion and/or fill-slot problem

Hello, me again So I've managed to use multiple templates with acquisition in order to have different look'n'feel. One problem I've got is the following. 1) I call the macros from the page templates in that way : <HTML metal:use-macro="here/page_template.pt/macros/page"> 2) I defined a folder, with another page_template.pt in it. This folder is called different_template 3) To have a different look I call the pages with this url html://somesite/different_template And that works ! But, only for the first page when I access somesite/folderA/different_template I keep getting the front page (that's logic since zope acquire the index_html from the root folder not the one from folderA). Do you have any ideas on how I could do that ? (I already tried to pass the whole path (folderA/different_template/page_template.pt) and it works but then I've got a problem with the slots in the template that are not overriden). What's the difference about ZopeTime() and DateTime() ?

Formulator - TALES - Z SQL Method

I am new to Formulator and I would like to create a pulldown list that is built from data in my relational database. I have a working ZSQLMethod that returns results in 2 columns called "ListCompanyStaff". I created a Formulator form that has a multilist widget call "company_contact_id" and I would like to overide the value list using the ZSQLMethod. The example in the help file shows a Python example and I played with that and it worked. Does anyone have an example of the exact "TALES" syntax that I should put in the "items" property of on the TALES tab? Thanks, David ======================================= David T. DateTime() and ZopeTime() Thanks

Thanks All. Yes, I tried DateTime() and ZopeTime() separately in a dtml method like: <dtml-var expr=_.DateTime()> <dtml-var expr=ZopeTime()> It returns same value. But when I use the Zopetime() in my database ZSQL method, like <dtml-sqlvar expr=ZopeTime() type="string">, it will give error messages:"Attribute Error: ZopeTime Attribute" But when I change to: <dtml-sqlvar expr=_.DateTime() type="string">, It works well. Problem with zsession_del_notify python script, event log transienceDestruct failed msg

Hi, Zope Version Zope 2.5.1 Python Version 2.1.3 System Platform freebsd4 CMF Version 1.3 I have a python script that is setup in ZSESSION_DEL_NOTIFY to save some info out of the session objects from visitors to a cmf site. I have seen the "PROBLEM" event listed in the event log (shown below) on a regular basis. Line 8 of the SessionCleanUp script does the following... sess_cnt = sdo.get('sess_cnt', {}) sdo being the session object passed to the script via the parameter list. This means the data I want isn't saved, correct? From LowConflictConnection.py how would the session object being passed be None (or the objects attr _storage?)? And how do I track it to find the problem? Thanks for any pointers. How to sort the results of portal_catalog.searchResults()???

Hi All, I would like to sort the results of portal_catalog.searchResults() based on the last_modified_date.... But it seems that, portal_catalog...is producing the results randomly.....everytime the order of the items in result list differs......... Has anybody solved this problem...??? or anyother way to overcome this problem.....
