dtml-call but with TAL
by Peter Bengtsson 10 Jul '03

I have several places where the DTML used to look like this:: <dtml-call "IfNotLoggedInRedirectSomewhere()"> The equivalent in TAL would be what? My current implementation is:: <span tal:define="dummy here/IfNotLoggedInRedirectSomewhere" tal:replace="nothing"></span> There must be a more good looking solution other than rewriting the whole way the site works. ExternalEditor doesn't launch my .doc files
by Josef Meile 10 Jul '03

Hi, I'm trying to setup ExternalEditor to launch Word 2000 files, but I haven't had success. First I wrote these lines on my "ZopeEdit.ini": [content-type:application/msword] extension=.doc Then I tried the following sintaxes for the "editor" variable: I found this one in the File Types of windows: editor = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE /n "%1" I found these two in other messages of the maillinglist: editor = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE /w "%1" editor = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE "%1" I have also tried without the "%1", and writting "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\WINWORD.EXE" between double qoutes but I get always the same dialog box: FATAL ERROR: (126, 'LoadLibrary', 'The specified module could not be found.') I don't get a traceback on my log file. I'm running Zope 2.6.1 under Windows 2000 (a local machine), and I have installed ExternalEditor 0.7, and ZopeEdit 0.7 (installed from the binary for Windows). What could be the problem? Am I using the wrong sintax? Thanks in advanced, Josef

If you put start tag into header and end tag into footer documents, it could minimize your code at minimal level. But sometimes you want to have absolutelly NO space except you define between tags. So if somebody will extend this to ignore CR/LF and spaces from line beginning, publish your script here please. > from string import split, strip, join, replace > import DocumentTemplate.DT_Util > from DocumentTemplate.DT_String import String > > class UnitWhitespaceTag: > """ > Removes redundant whitespace (not very conservatively) > """ Where may I place this script and what is his name? lib/python/Products/unitws/__init__.py ?? Thanks, JL.

Problem with acquisition and macro.
by Nicolas Évrard 10 Jul '03

Hello, I've put this hierarchy in my site : /root-folder | ` page_template ` index_html + folderA | ` index_html + print-friendly | ` page_template I thought that when accessing http://somesite/print-friendly/folderA I would use the page_template found in print-firendly. But this is not the case. Here is the way I import the page template in my index_html : <HTML metal:use-macro="here/page_template.pt/macros/page"> Do anybody has a clue ? -- (°> Nicolas Évrard / ) Liège - Belgique ^^

Form Persistence Strategy
by Tom Affinito 10 Jul '03

10 Jul '03

HI Zope Experts! Hopefully I have a simple problem.....I'm trying to figure out to display and validate a form, then store the form data into a searchable ZCatalog in the zodb. I've looked at Formulator, but I don't know how to deal with the persistence issue (and I can make the form easily enough in HTML anyway and call a handler script, so that's fine). I've read the Catalog chapter in the Zope Book, but making a Product doesn't seem to help me as my user's won't be in the ZMI. I haven't found anything clear in the Admin's Guide that is directly useful for someone trying to write DTML or Page Tempates from within the Zope context. I'd really just like to write a certain type of Python class (maybe using records?) and instantiate it and store it from some DTML so everything works....this has got to be easy, right? Yet I haven't found one clear recipe/example/HowTo..... Tom the Zope Novice
