Zope pdf's on the fly
by Dennis Allison 09 Jul '03

Microsoft's IE uses non-standard techniques to determine the type of a file. To bend it to our will, we've found that the generation program needs to be named with a '.pdf' extension. This, of course, makes it a bit difficult to embed in a dtml call. (As a form action, it works...) What I have is an external method that manages the interfact to HTMLDOC by building a html file, sending it to HTMLDOC, gathering the result, and returning it with appropriate headers to the client. If I use a form to set up parameters to the external method and <form action="doit.pdf()"> .. </form> it works fine. Of course, <dtml-varB expr="doit.pdf()"> doesn't.

Surpress white space?
by zoper＠disturbance.dhs.org 09 Jul '03

Greetings: Is there an easy way to surpress all whitespace output from DTML? Essentially, I have a situation where DTML is used for a crutch to do some simple logical things, but where most of the interesting stuff happens in external methods. There are a few lines of DTML that actually produce useful output, but I am getting a TON of whitespace before my interesting output that I need to surpress. Thanks for any replies, Bryan

look at context.aq_explicit. I had a similar problem a short while ago, got help on this list. So you could search for emails in this list with keyword 'aq_explicit'. And in case I'm wrong about this, someone pls let me know. -----Original Message----- From: Phil Bradbury [mailto:phil.bradbury@man.ac.uk] Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2003 12:38 To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Testing for and/or avoiding acquisition Hello. Probably a simple problem but one I can't seem to solve. I have a site with many folders and subfolders, no problem there. What I want to do is to use a file called 'content.html' to be parsed in each folder but that if there is no such file IN THAT FOLDER it uses a no-content.html' file acquired from 'root' level. Is it possible to check ONLY the container folder for the existence of the required 'content.html' file and if it does not exist to use the 'no-content.html' file from above? If so, how is it done? I'm using TAL rather than DTML and my brain is hurting from trying to sort this out!! I have RTFM but still can't seem to figure out the syntax. Help would be much appreciated! Hi all, I was install UserCounter produuct and they show me still 2 users. I was look at details and they show IP of my pound proxy and my IP. I was done smll mod for those who uses reverse proxy. In Counter.py change these lines def __call__(self, client, request, response=None): '''Traversing''' # Refresh the client's last access time remote_ip = request['REMOTE_ADDR'] to that lines: def __call__(self, client, request, response=None): '''Traversing''' # Refresh the client's last access time #remote_ip = request['REMOTE_ADDR'] #obsolete. Zope is manytimes behind reverse proxy, so we need X_forwarded_for #changes 2003-07-09 by Jaroslav Lukesh, lsh(a)wo.cz remote_ip = request['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR'] or request['REMOTE_ADDR'] Enjoy! Anyway, I think that the chances you have problems are bigger because there are some new features that 2.6.1 has and 2.5.1 doesn't.

There are some issues when updating from Zope 2.5.1 to 2.6.x. I wrote a how-to some months ago with the problems I had: http://www.zope.org/Members/jmeile/upgradingZope Regards, Josef
