Trying to change the root of the tree using the name attribute of the dtml-tree tag
by Asad Habib 11 Feb '03

Hello. I am trying to change the root of the tree using a variable which is initialized using the REQUEST.set method. However, the root does not change and remains the default which in this case is the root folder. I have provided my code below. This code resides in a DTML method which is called when a form in a DTML document is submitted. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Asad <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('testFolder', REQUEST.form['folderName'])"> <dtml-tree branches_expr="objectValues('Folder')" name="testFolder" skip_unauthorized> <dtml-var getId> </dtml-tree> __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? re: Zope restore
by Dapo Ladimeji 10 Feb '03

I am a Zope newbie and have just ordered a managed server to run a web-journal on Zope. I recently had a little bother on my development machine and had to do a clean reinstall of the operating system. No, no, no! I did have a full backup :-). However I would appreciate some help on how to restore the data files i.e. where are they? And also any tips on what to avoid i.e. should I overwrite or simply add the data files to an existing folder etc. Many thanks Dapo

Re: [Zope] ZSyncer question

Okay, I tried this but received the following error: Error: * Fault * <Fault -1: 'Unexpected Zope exception: cannot marshal <extension class Acquisition.ImplicitAcquirerWrapper at 4da140> objects'> For the destination path, I used http://www.mysite.edu:8080/ZSyncer_location "ZSyncer_instance" is the instance I created at the root level of Zope on the server to which I want to synchronize. This looks like it should be simple, but it's just not working! I did this. >> >> Then, in the root level of server1, I added a ZSyncer instance and used the "Edit Server" tab to name server2 as the destination (http://server2:8080/) Both servers are up and running fine. >> >> However, when I click the "Sync" tab, I get an error message, "There was a problem synching the servers." acquisition syntax doubt
by ilflaminio＠virgilio.it 10 Feb '03

Hi all I have two folder A e B in the root: |_A (id=A title=A) |_B (id=B title=B) In B I have a dtml method "getTitle", with the line <dtml-var title>. If I use the url /B/A/getTitle it returns 'A', and this is OK. But if I have a method in the root with the line <dtml-var "B.A.getTitle()"> I have a keyerror (title parameter). Why with the syntax B.A.getTitle() the method getTitle() doesn't acquire by A? Thanks. Michele

Help with Dynamic Link
by Chetan Kumar 10 Feb '03

10 Feb '03

Hi all The situation 1. Users have a number of entries in their accounts. These are stored in MySQL. 2. The users are presented with their entries. They should be able to modify these. Here is how it is planned. <table> <tr> <td> Name </td> <td> Entry </td> <td> Details </td> <td>Update</td> <tr> <tr tal:repeat="GotEntry here/GetMyEntries"> <td tal:content="GotEntry/Name></td> <td tal:content="GotEntry/Entry"></td> <td tal:content="GotEntry/Details></td> <td tal: ###############><td> </tr> </table> I need to replace the "#####" space with something that works. Under the column Update I need to provide a link to a python script (UpdateData). The script should get the Name, Entry, Details from the ZPT and show the present data in a form. I can handle if the script gets these arguments. The problem is with create a link which will call UpdateData with proper arguments. I have tried the following <td tal:replace="python: string${request/URL0}/UpdateData"> </td> But this will not pass the values of arguments. What is the trick to make if say URL0/UpdateDate?Name=Something where Name is the entry in the same column. Meaning the link in each rows calls UpdateData with different values. TIA. Chetan

Two Zopes, Two Domains
by Ken Dobruskin 10 Feb '03

10 Feb '03

Hi all, Is it possible to run two Zopes - on ports 80 and 8080 - each with its own IP address (and domain name)? I may be wrong, but I don't believe the DNS is interested in port numbers... Just ask and I'll tell you why... I'll spare you for now! Thanks! Ken

Zope 2.6.1 and xml.sax.expatparser problems
by Tom Emerson 10 Feb '03

Greetings, I have a (Python) external method that imports a module Foo which in turn imports a module containing from xml.dom.minidom import parseString This results in the following traceback: Traceback (innermost last): Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 98, in publish Module ZPublisher.mapply, line 88, in mapply Module ZPublisher.Publish, line 39, in call_object Module Shared.DC.Scripts.Bindings, line 252, in __call__ Module Shared.DC.Scripts.Bindings, line 283, in _bindAndExec Module Products.PythonScripts.PythonScript, line 315, in _exec Module Script (Python), line 6, in query.py - <PythonScript at /nonce/search/query.py> - Line 6 Module Products.ExternalMethod.ExternalMethod, line 224, in __call__ - __traceback_info__: (('\xd8\xa8\xd9\x88\xd8\xb4', 'off', 'on', ''), {}, None) Module /usr/opt/nonce/Zope-2.6.1-src/Extensions/ArZope.py, line 100, in ProcessQuery Module /usr/opt/nonce/Zope-2.6.1-src/Extensions/ArZope.py, line 61, in IssueQuery Module FastSDK, line 58, in __init__ Module xml.dom.minidom, line 915, in parseString Module xml.dom.minidom, line 901, in _doparse Module xml.dom.pulldom, line 301, in parseString Module xml.sax, line 76, in make_parser Module xml.sax, line 101, in _create_parser AttributeError: 'xml.sax.expatreader' module has no attribute 'create_parser' I can load Foo directly in Python without issue, so this appears to be somehow related to Zope. It was my understanding that external methods ran without "interference" from Zope's security mechanism. This is running on FreeBSD 4.6.2-RELEASE-p2, Python 2.1.3 (with FreeBSD thread stack patch), and Zope 2.6.1. Both Python and Zope were built from source. I'm at a loss to explain this lossage. Anyone have any ideas of what I could try? TIA, -tree -- Tom Emerson Basis Technology Corp.
